A Belated Farewell to 2013

We’re already well into 2014 and I still haven’t said a proper goodbye to 2013.

Goodbye 2013!

There we go.

As I left work on New Year’s Eve I saw a beautiful rainbow arcing over the buildings, a fitting end to the year. Quick as a flash, I whipped out my phone and snapped a photo.

Alas, my trusty phone camera let me down 😦 . It’s all a bit washed out.

Rainbow

A beautiful rainbow, ruined by my stupid phone camera.

But never fear! I own an expensive and sophisticated set of filters incorporated into cutting-edge image processing software. I have brought all of this to bear on the problem – I hope you’ll appreciate the result below!

Rainbow Altered

There, that’s better. Possibly the pot of gold wasn’t there originally.

Thanks to modern technology, you can now view the beautiful rainbow in all its awe-inspiring glory.

On the blogging front, I thought it might be fun to view my “all-time” visitor stats. You can see where I started to take it seriously, and then in the second half of last year I did some Daily Prompts and began writing Friday Fictioneers submissions, among other things. Things really took off, I started following lots of really cool blogs and I “met” a great bunch of people!

Now I have started participating in Kerrie Salsac’s brilliant new Chain Writing Game, so the only way is up (potentially)!

Stats All TimeHere’s to 2014, and a huge thank you to everybody who takes the time to read, comment on and like my posts 🙂 .

Not in RL? do my nieces drawings count as seen in real life? Then yes. But not in the great wide open Quite right about that 🙂

    Hi Alistair,

While I appreciate your intention, quite frankly, the filters, expensive as they maybe , are making the rainbow look like a paint job. Bad idea if you ask me. Why not just retain the first photo? It’s the thought that matters, does it not?

Have fun and continue to be amazing in 2014…. and beyond 🙂

    Cheers

      Hi Shakti,

It was a bad Paint job. Well, a very old copy of Paintshop Pro and my shaky hand, actually.
      Have a great 2014!

Maybe I’ll try a few flash fictions with fewer untimely demises!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your new stats. I’ve just started getting serious about my blog and show the same spike on mine. I also love your sense of humor. I agree with pizza and cats, BTW. It’s just nice meeting part of the 0.1% of the world that understands what it means to test software. Have a great year.

It’s amazing how the stats pick up when you start to get serious and take part in various prompts and so on! And it’s nice to know you’re not just talking to yourself.
Hope you have a great year too!

I like your augmented rainbow. It’s got a certain “je ne said quoi,” if you know what I mean. The pot’o’gold is a good touch too. Pass it along, I could use some!

You’re racking up some impressive numbers there. I’m awestruck. Gee. Good for you!!

Thanks, yes, it has all taken off over the last 6 months or so!
I did actually try mucking about with some of the “image enhancements” on Paintshop Pro (decade old edition) but to no avail, so I resorted to graphics tablet 🙂 . I’m hoping to get Photoshop Elements when I have a spare £70.
