CWG Week 6 Episode 18

Here we are at week 6 of Kerrie’s Chain Writing Game! This week, Jadir has left the safety of his village and ventured over The Wall. What will he find?

Catch up with the story by clicking on the little blue froggy. My second contribution is below.

(Heh heh – I hope this is OK, I hit “publish” instead of “preview”. You should have heard me swearing 🙂 )

“You are the one. The ancient texts spoke of your coming. The Ezreet will fall at last  – this is your destiny!”

“Destiny? I just wanted to see what was on the other side of the wall. This is too much!” Jadir turned and ran back the way they had come.

“Wait!” shouted Eliya, chasing after him.

Jadir ran out of the cave to be confronted by a Terror Bird – it screeched and attacked. Jadir screamed, thrusting his hands out and watched, incredulous, as bolts of light shot from his fingers. The Terror Bird disintegrated with an astonished squawk.

“Now you understand,” said Eliya.

Oh! Too bad he’s finding all this out now. Imagine him in a bar fight? Now that Jadir has realized his powers, he’ll be dangerous. But will Eliya be able to pull him back? I expect he’s just a tad overwhelmed right now. He might just lash out at anyone or anything. Scary.

He is in a bit of a state. Hopefully Eliya can rein him in. It’s a lot to take in, but I have the feeling he’s not going to get the time to adjust. As you say, he’s very dangerous right now.

I don’t think he’ll get much time either. His powers will only be at their peak for a short time during the solstice. The Adjani will need his help right away. I expect Eliya may have to do something she wasn’t expecting to in order to calm him down. 🙂

Yes, there’s a bit of a narrow window here. Time to step up to the plate, Eliya!

I know, that’s the fun of this game. They say laughter is the best medicine. I like to be sure and get my daily dose. 😉

I was wondering how long it would take before he used his powers – albeit accidentally. Calm down Jadir, it’s going to be all right. Eliya, just kiss him, that should shock him enough to take his mind off the lightning and the Terror Birds 😀

Unless the kiss over-excites him and she explodes in a flash of blue light 🙂

AS resistant as Jadir is i will bet Eliya will be cautious about pushing anything to quickly. If he was to go off he could cause her to disintegrate too.

She’s got quite a choice – the short time period during the Hazjukel to help her people versus trying to keep him calm. Maybe she’ll just have to take the chance.

From drunken idiot to powerful sorcerer in such a short period of time is bound to throw anyone for a loop, especially with a helping of terror on the side. I like the reaction…it would have felt weird if he just accepted it.

The only thing better than a hero is a reluctant hero, who eventually accepts his destiny and does what has to be done. OR WILL HE???
