Sharing My World Week 9

Hello friends! It’s time once again to Share My World, part of Cee’s Share Your World series of questions which helps bloggers to get to know one another a little better. Peace out!

This week’s questions are all about our dream house.

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio?
Reading nook? Art studio? What whatΒ what? Where’s “kick-ass soundproofed and fully stocked entertainment room”? Somewhere I can turn up the volume and shoot aliens, or watch Hobbits (yay, Hobbits) kicking Orc ass, all without disturbing the neighbours with fully surround-sounded gunfire and whatnot.

And I could read in there as well.

Would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?
I would prefer a TV in every room, thanks.

Especially in my kick-ass soundproofed and fully stocked entertainment room.

What colour would you like your bedroom to be?
Who cares, when I’ll be spending all my time in myΒ kick-ass soundproofed and fully stocked entertainment room?

Okay then, lavender.

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?
Well, I just bought a house with two levels. While I’m a little worried about the stairs when I get older, it’s nice to go upstairs to sleep at the end of the day.

At least it would be if my bed wasn’t still in bits and I wasn’t still sleeping on the sofa in the living room.

Bonus question:
Ooh, a bonus question! What could it be, what could it be?

As I was saying, Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful that my house move went reasonably smoothly. In the upcoming week I’m looking forward to getting my bedroom sorted out so I can invite the people round who have been eager to see my new abode (and so I can sleep in a bed again, because I’m getting too old for sleeping on sofas. Especially two-seater sofas).

That’s all for this week. Have a lovely week everybody!

    Lavender? Nice!

I like your reading room alternative. πŸ™‚

    • March 6, 2014 at 8:51 pm

Yeah, it’s gonna be the bestest room that ever there was πŸ™‚

You could just paint that room lavender…

        • March 8, 2014 at 3:31 am

Then it would indeed be the perfect room πŸ™‚

  2. March 6, 2014 at 8:06 pm

Ahahaha. Can I come over and watch a movie in your super sweet entertainment room?

    • March 6, 2014 at 8:52 pm

The more the merrier! You can bring the popcorn πŸ™‚

  3. March 6, 2014 at 8:51 pm

Wow, I love the sound of your kick-ass soundproofed and fully stocked entertainment room. Me wants one too. We like playing Led Zeppelin really loud & I always worry about the neighbours. I might enjoy shooting a few hobbits too. Oh, sorry did you say aliens? lol πŸ™‚

    • March 6, 2014 at 8:55 pm

Nooo, you can’t shoot the Hobbits 😦
In my entertainment room, you can listen to Led Zeppelin as loud as you like. My room will be a real Stairway to Heaven! Ah ha. Ah hahaha πŸ™‚

  4. March 6, 2014 at 9:07 pm

So what’s this I hear? You want a kick-ass soundproofed and fully stocked entertainment room? Huh?? I can’t hear you standing out here with the tv so loud, so I think you need a kick ass soundproofed and full stocked entertainment room! Hahahaha! Great answers..

    • March 6, 2014 at 9:55 pm

I can’t wait to go to sleep soon so I can dream about my kick-ass soundproofed fully stocked entertainment room.

hhmmm lavender is a peaceful colour I suppose. I think for that first Q I couldn’t care less about a reading nook as I can read anywhere I can get comfy… But an art studio would be lovely, I would also like a music room… no I don’t want to choose, I want both… (this is where I sigh and resign myself as a dreamer). Oh dear sleeping on the sofa – it’s like you’ve resigned yourself to the doghouse! I too do not have a full sized sofa (couch) I have two small 2 seaters (loveseats) and napping on them really sucks cuz even though I am a shorty I am still too tall for my cute little loveseats.

    • March 6, 2014 at 9:58 pm

I like the blue/purple/violet end of the visible EM spectrum πŸ™‚
My sofa is also too short. It will be nice to be able to stretch out again. Of course I could have built the bed this evening if I hadn’t been watching Criminal Minds and Stargate Atlantis. I have a prioritisation problem!

      • March 6, 2014 at 10:14 pm

aaahhh yes I understand. I have a similar ‘disorder’ I have a project (surprisingly finishing my bedroom and my youngest kid’s room) that has been in ‘progress’ for about 4-5 months now, that really should have been completed oh about 4-5 months ago… haha! But there is always so much stuff that is much more fun to be doing than these tedious projects. Although the end results I am sure would be worth it… sigh

        • March 8, 2014 at 3:33 am

Yes, I have to do finish at least the bed this weekend. Everyone is commenting on how tired I look. It’ll be great to get a good night’s sleep again.

Interesting! I’ve lived much if my life in a home that I designed that’s semi rural. I can play my music loud and no one knows, yet get to town in under 15 mins. Just might be the biggest mistake of my life. So safe, so static and nothing new.

    • March 8, 2014 at 3:35 am

Safe, static and nothing new sounds good to me!

Oh, how I long to listen to music loudly and with abandon. Ever since the Countess and I moved in with her grandmother, The only time I ever get to listen to music is in the car. If Gas weren’t so expensive I would just spend all my spare time driving around

    • March 8, 2014 at 3:48 am

I actually like that I’ve moved further from work (30 minute commute instead of 10). I enjoy driving along with my music nice and loud, and 10 minutes just wasn’t “doing it” for me.
Petrol prices do kill the enjoyment a bit though! A lot cheaper than it has been, but still expensive (according to various conversions on Google roughly 2.40 Canadian dollars per litre).

  8. March 7, 2014 at 2:46 am

I take it want a studio!! πŸ™‚ There is one waiting for you somewhere!! thanks so much for sharing.

  9. March 7, 2014 at 6:45 am

πŸ™‚ Great answers! Good luck with the bed build, know what you mean about getting too old to sleep on a sofa – with age comes the need for comfort! πŸ˜‰

    • March 8, 2014 at 3:51 am

People are starting to comment on how tired I look, so I have to do it this weekend and get some decent sleep πŸ™‚

      • March 9, 2014 at 12:36 pm

        Oh dear, that’s not good!

        • March 9, 2014 at 6:46 pm

No. However, I finally made it yesterday so tonight’s the night!

  10. March 9, 2014 at 10:18 am

I bet you made your bed ages ago and you are just kidding!!!!???? .

    • March 9, 2014 at 6:44 pm

I wish! I actually made it yesterday – tonight will be the first night off the sofa in over 2 weeks.

  11. March 10, 2014 at 2:08 am

    Love your answers!

  12. March 12, 2014 at 12:35 am

A fully equipped recording studio as well as various art rooms and a writing room and a kitchen on every floor. And mooring for the boat and a beach … And …

    • March 12, 2014 at 8:02 am

Ooh yes, I forgot the private dock. And the plans are already with the architect. Dammit πŸ™‚

  13. March 12, 2014 at 4:13 am

Question, please. Have you ever had a lavender room? On the EM spectrum while the color looks fabulous, how would lavender look in an adult mans home? Having hilarious sarcastic remarks flitting through my mind.

    • March 12, 2014 at 8:03 am

I reckon it would be well cool πŸ˜‰
Maybe not. I just like the colour. I’ll leave my bedroom the way it is. I can’t remember exactly what colour it is but I’m sure it’s great πŸ™‚
