When it’s a bit chilly outside (even though the sun has come out)…

… it’s nice to snug up nice and warm in the living room of my new house with the gas fire on (and watch Dr Who).

Thanks! It’s cosy now, it was a bit cold in the first week. I was too scared (or prudent?) to use the fire until I bought a CO detector.

Fires in the fireplace are probably the one thing I liked about winter, when I had one.

It’s only a gas fire but it looks a bit real!
When I was a kid my parents had a real coal fire. That was amazing, but a lot of work to keep clean and so on.

It’s the ambiance of it all 🙂
We had a fireplace in the living room and a woodstove in the den growing up. They were the only sources of heat, so lots of chopping, stacking and hauling wood all winter long.

Wow it looks great, have you got your bed built yet? I haven’t seen Dr. Who in years. I watched it from the very first episode & continued for years but then I was in the woods without a telly lol & now I’m in Israel without a telly lol 🙂

Yep, the bed is built (last Sunday).
I’ve been watching Dr Who from early Tom Baker (though I’ve seen earlier on DVD/video). I’m a big fan!

The big building on the right is the “Hall for Cornwall”. That’s where you’ll be playing when your grand tour arrives here 🙂
