Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring
This week’s Daily Post photo challenge is all about Spring. Not the boingy kind, but the season.
I have some flowers coming up in my garden. It’s quite exciting – I only bought the house a couple of months ago so I didn’t plant them and I don’t know what’s going to appear next!
Here is a picture of bluebells, according to my parents. I admit that they are bell-shaped, though more purple than blue, I would say. They also reckon that the little white flowers are garlic. Possibly the previous owner was worried about vampires.
Obviously I have some weed-removal yet to do, but I had to check with my parents first as I tend to remove the flowers and leave the weeds, left to my own devices.

Oh, how pretty! The flowers of course, not the weeds 🙂

The weeds will soon be history. I got rid of the worst of them yesterday and I put down some stuff to get rid of the moss (once the neighbourhood cat cleared off, I didn’t want him getting ill).
Sometimes weeds look prettier than the flowers, that’s why I keep making weeding mistakes! I was about to cut down an “eyesore” in the corner until Dad told me it was honeysuckle and would look lovely later in the year 🙂

Your garden is quite lovely. I wonder if the little white things on stalks are “lily of the valley?”
They have a beautiful, unmistakable odor which other little white flowers do not have.

It’s a tiny garden but with lovely flowers and enough room to sit out in and have a barbecue!
I will have to wait to see if the white things flower and have a sniff 🙂

Those white flowers are absolutely guaranteed lilies of the valley. They smell yummy and grow like weeds. I encourage them.

We had the same thing happen when we moved into our rental house. It was in summer so we had no idea what would come up in spring. Fortunately, the landscaping is quite nice but it was a surprise. I love bluebells. Lucky you.

The bluebells are lovely.
I don’t know much about gardening so I’ll need to remember where and what everything is and make sure I keep them all alive! I’ve never owned a house before an I’m still in the “better not touch this without checking” phase, forgetting that I own the garden and I can make it look the way I want 🙂

It’s all I can do! My job is to keep the weeds down, make sure everything has enough water (but not too much!) and see what happens 🙂

Are the little white things on sticks a sort of lily of the valley?They look a bit like them but not quite, Wonderful show of bluebells!. You have very scented garden! and I reckon it all looks a bit more advanced than here in this part of the world (Cotswold Country)

A few people reckon they are lily of the valley – I’ll have to wait and see what happens.
One day nothing, the next bluebells! It’s been quite mild down here in Cornwall so I guess everything decided to bloom.

Moss can be good as ground cover to retain moisture. Take your plant photos into your garden center so they can help out with identifying and care of plants.

ps off topic – reading about discoveries at Stonehedge, think they used up your trees. Ha ha! Your lack of trees sincerely fascinate me, that’s what I would study or learn about.
