Sharing My World Week 31

It’s hard to believe it but it’s already time for another Share Your World, hosted by Cee over at her photography blog.

share-your-world2

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (guest can be dead, alive, famous or someone you just know)
Wow, tricky one. There are so many people to invite, especially since I can have dead people as well. I assume they won’t be dead when they arrive on my show, because that would be gross.

I’ll invite on authors Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. That’s right, we’re having a comedy author smack-down! They went head to head over in the Fishbowl and Adams got the top slot, so this is a rematch.

Obviously this could get a bit ugly, so the third guest would be Jerry Springer. It’s not actually him I want, but he comes with bouncers and I might need them.

What can you always be found with?
My mobile phone. Obvious answer, I know, but it’s true. Camera, torch, calculator, navigation etc etc all in one. I hear that in a pinch it can also be used to make phone calls.

What is the most fun thing you did in school?
I don’t usually think of the words “fun” and “school” together. The most fun I had at school was leaving.

We did go on a weekend trip to London when I was in the first year (which is now called “year eleven” or “year twelve” or something) of secondary school. That was a laugh. A friend and I got lost in Harrods and we nearly missed the train home when another pupil wandered off to buy a newspaper. We visited some museums and stuff as well 🙂

It was on this trip that I made friends with a guy who turned out to be a childhood friend back from when we were babies (our fathers used to work together). He now lives round the corner from me and I’m Godfather to his youngest.

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
I’ve been thinking about this through the week but I can’t think of anything that I do differently to other people. Maybe leave the house? I check and double check all the doors, windows and power points and then check them again if I don’t get out the house fast enough.

Now I sound like a crazy person.

See you again next week!

You’re funny. Cellphone are known to make calls. Your trip to London and going to some museums. Haha!

That’s pretty cool about reconnecting with a childhood friend 🙂 How far are you (or were you) from London?

I was going to say it is weird for me to leave the house too, until I kept reading. I am pretty bad about checking things other than the front door as I go.

It was quite a surprise to my parents when they realised who my “new” friend was!
I was (and am), according to Google, 277 miles from London.

Ali, I think that’s great you rediscovered your early childhood friend. I have two friends I’ve kept in contact with whom I knew from early childhood. Don’t worry about the checking business. I do that too. With a tank of propane in my kitchen that has to be turned on and off, I’m very careful. Also, I like to keep the electric bill down. You just bought a home and don’t want anything to happen to it, any break ins, etc.

It was a total fluke that we met again, and also a fluke that the house I found to buy is only 5 minutes walk away.
I’m glad I’m not the only checker 🙂

You sound pretty much like the rest of we nerdy geeky people. Also, I keep saying — when you have know idea how other people do stuff, how do you know if what you are doing is weird? I think we are ALL weird — and thus, ALL normal. Because normal is what the majority of people do unless there really IS a book somewhere with instruction on Life.

Very true – my “weirdness” is probably fairly normal. I’ve yet to find Life’s instruction book so I guess we’ll all need to just keep muddling on through.

Pratchett and Adams: good choices! I would definitely watch.

That phone of yours sounds mighty fancy, but does it FLIP? 😉

Two of my favourite authors – should be cool! I’ll save you a seat at the front.
Unfortunately, my phone is distinctly lacking in the flipiness department 🙂

        w00t! FRONT ROW! 😀

I bet you’re jealous of me now. I’ll bring my phone to the show so you can hold it for a minute–and WEEP.

I’ll spend my entire minute flipping it open and closed with a look of awe etched upon my face 🙂

I don’t know your authors but I put them on the list I started after meeting Marilyn.
For ages I thought others did life better until I really met them, then I knew was ok.
Remember when cigarettes would had been your one item you always carried, at least it was for me. Free.

Once it was booze, then cigarettes. Now I just have to remember to make sure my phone is charged! Free indeed.

hahaha:) I started laughing just before Jerry Springer and laughed all the way through the checking the electrical stuffs more than once before leaving home. Oh my geez…great post

I won’t read your Friday Fiction post until mine is done. It works better for me that way.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

I’m glad I made you laugh!
I’m the same with FF – I never read any of the others until mine is done.
You have a great rest of the week too 🙂
