Sharing My World Week 35

It’s Week 35 at Cee’s Share Your World – thanks for posing the questions, Cee! Go over to her blog and check out her great photos, people!

Have your blogging goals changed?
I wouldn’t say that my blogging goals have changed. I wanted to write “stuff” and put it out there, because what I have to say is important, right? 😉

However, the content has changed. I started out musing on life, and life’s experiences. However, I soon ran out of “wisdom”. I finally discovered that people write fiction on their blogs too, so I started in on that. I used to love writing at school, and now that the interweb is here people can read what I write. Much better than it all languishing in a notebook in a drawer somewhere (probably).

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?
Me, the circus? Surely you jest! That pretty much makes me the centre of attention.

I couldn’t be a clown, they’re sad and creepy. And not in the least funny.

I couldn’t do any athletic stuff because I’d end up in a broken heap.

I couldn’t do anything animal-related because I don’t like the idea of animals shut in cages being driven around the country.

I think I’d have to be the ring master. Although he’s there by himself and may seem the centre of attention, no-one is actually interested in what he’s doing, as he’s only there to link between acts.

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself?  Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 45?
There are so many things I could tell myself, but I wouldn’t listen. Who, at age 18, would listen to words of wisdom, cautioning restraint, a slower pace?

At the end of the day, I’m the sum total of the experiences I’ve had, good and bad. No matter how it’s turned out, I wouldn’t want to mess with that.

Ooh, that was a bit deep for me. I’ve gotta cut back on the double Espresso shots.

What is your favourite comfort snack food?
That’s tricky. I don’t really snack. I need to keep my body in tip-top athletic condition! (It’s not.)

If I did snack, I like that old favourite, chocolate. It’s a classic for a reason. I save it for special occasions, though. Last time I went on a chocolate kick, I was putting away several hundred grammes of Galaxy milk chocolate a night. I had to wean myself off it slowly via chunky Kit-Kats.

Ice cream’s good too. Mmm, ice cream.

Well, it all turned a bit serious this week. See you next week for more questions from Cee!

I chose ring master too, for mostly the same reasons.

Yes, I saw that! It sounded like the most preferable job that I wouldn’t really want to do.

I had such a chuckle when I read about your chocolate nibbling 🙂

Ali, I haven’t had lunch yet, and you made me really hungry with all that talk about chocolate. I started my blog out the same as you did, then discovered Friday Fictioneers and love writing stories that follow the prompts. I couldn’t perform in a circus, but it’s kind of like a big family and that’s nice. I’d probably end up selling tickets because no one else wanted the job and I was useless doing anything else. Sometimes I wish I could be 18 and know what I know now. I think we all do some stupid and selfish things when we’re that young. Another entertaining piece. 🙂 —Susan

It was Friday Fictioneers that changed my blog too.
I wish I’d thought of ticket seller, that’s even more out of the limelight!

Well, the ringmaster does have a pretty spiffy costume and hat 🙂

    Mmm, Kit Kats!

I am guessing that you are enjoying your new coffee maker? 😉

It was the costume and hat that sealed the deal for me 🙂
My new coffee maker’s the business. I can have great coffee and not have all the horrible hassle of cleaning the cafetiere.

        I knew it!

I bought Matthew a similar coffee maker a few years ago. He likes that he can have different flavors based on his mood and they won’t go stale like a full bag might. Plus, easier to store too!

Yeah, no more pulling the coffee out of tupperware out of the freezer and getting little coffee bits everywhere.

Maybe you could be in charge of the snack stall at the circus? Free chocolate?

Now there’s an idea. I might end up needing to borrow the clown’s huge trousers though with all the free chocolate 🙂

I’ll try to keep it lighter next week. I never thought about the ringmaster as being by himself. But it’s true. Got me thinking now. Thanks for sharing.

I never thought I could really be an acrobat. I just thought it would be nice to fly. But I’ll settle for a trip to the stars in an alien spaceship. That would work for me.

If I tried trapeze I would certainly fly temporarily 🙂
A trip in an alien spaceship would be fun, as long as there wasn’t any “experimentation” going on.

Nice that your hidden drawer writing is now out in the open for all to read.
Clowns creepy – not funny? Have you read your work??
But I can believe a ringmaster, with you in control.
“I’m the sum total of the experiences” (Very Mature) Totally agree. Wouldn’t be here if I taken a different path.
    Chocolate? YES!

Notice there are no clowns in my stories. Clowns are too creepy even for me!
I could totally be a ringmaster.
      Yay for chocolate!

Serious is good too. DrAli you could be the fortune teller. A costume to hide behind, assign one of your story characters to each client, probably be closer to the truth anyway.

Completely agree about clowns (and of course the chocolate, but ya know, who doesn’t agree with that delicious snack) no funny, just creepy and plain old annoying. I will say though that I enjoy the extra creepy clowns of Cirque de Soleil…so maybe that’s the key? They have to go that extra creepy step and just own that what they are is in fact creepy…not sure, but I think there’s something there! 🙂

That’s a good idea. I think clowns are just creepy because they’re supposed to be funny. A clown which is designed to be creepy would be cool.
