Fish and Chip Van Friday!

Yes, it’s fish and chip van Friday here in the village.

Fish and Chips

Whoa there!

Holy heart attacks, Batman. It’s a good job I didn’t order “large” chips!

I still managed to eat it all, though πŸ™‚

Just the fact that you live in a village that has a weekly fish and chip van is enough to make me insanely jealous. That looks great!

I am sure you are exercising to burn off all the calories and prevent a heart attack, right?

      It’s a good job they’re only here once a week πŸ™‚ It’s a nice Friday treat.

As for exercise, I’m sure I’ll have to get up off the couch at some point this evening. I think the PS4 needs switching on at the mains πŸ™‚

Ooh, look at you with all your technology πŸ™‚
Unfortunately it was physically switched off at the mains socket. I know these things are designed to be “always on” but I don’t feel comfortable doing that when I’m out all day. I suppose I could poke at it with a broom handle or something πŸ™‚

Our local pub does a mean fish and chips. You get three pieces of fish, about a pound of chips and a bowl of salad. For some reason, eating the bowl of salad first makes you feel less guilty πŸ™‚ LOL my best friend and I are having fish and chips for dinner tonight while we watch our home team (Penrith Panthers) play in the Rugby League semi-finals. She knows all about village life and makes me jealous all the time — she comes from Cornwall.

Wow, that sounds like quite a feast. A bowl of salad is always good to instantly make a meal “healthy” πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy it, and good luck to the Panthers!

Fortunately I deliberately didn’t eat much during the day in anticipation of my fish and chips. I’ve never had a portion that size before, though! The picture doesn’t actually do it justice. That’s my largest plate and it barely fit πŸ™‚

Wow, four! My nearest fish and chip shop is in the next village (my village has a little shop/post office and a pub and that’s it). There are several in Truro 7 miles away and lots in the seaside towns of course.
It’s probably for the best that I’m not too close to multiple takeaways πŸ™‚

I did rather rub people’s noses in my massive plate of fish and chips, didn’t I πŸ™‚
So next year you can give some good old British fish and chips a go then. Excellent!

“Fish and chips” is one of the first things Americans associate with England, and yet despite my being aware of this staple for many, many years… I honestly believe this is the first time I’ve seen a picture of it before! While I’m not much on fish, I’d probably love to try the chips…. assuming they aren’t glowing!

Trust me, the fish is awesome! You can have a battered sausage instead, though, which is very good.
