Sharing My World 2015 Week 2

Here is my Sharing My World, hosted by Cee over at her photography blog.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?
I like hugs but I never initiate them, because I don’t know if the other person would want a hug from me. Of course, they may be thinking the same thing, so everybody goes hugless. It’s a hugastrophe :-(.

What’s your favourite ice-cream flavour?
This question looks familiar and I’m trying to remember what I said last time, for whatever challenge it was. Nobody’s checking, right?

I guess if I’m not sure then it’s hard to pick a favourite anyway. Vanilla always works. Chocolate is good when I’m in a chocolate mood, or mint choc chip. I also like stuff like black cherry.

Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either?
I prefer to exercise neither my mind nor my body. For preference it would be my mind.

I’m stuck exercising my mind when I’m at work. I can’t do my job if I act like a dimwit. As for exercising my body, I go for the occasional walk. I did the vacuuming last week, does that count?

Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why?
Cat person all the way! I should mention at this point that I’ve never had a dog.

I know that dogs are loyal and all the rest of it, but I’m quite lazy and dogs are much higher maintenance than cats. Cats pretty much take care of themselves. Just bung them some food and water, change their kitty litter and give them hugs when they want one. That’s the sort of pet I could handle.

“I can’t do my job if I act like a dimwit.” – literal LOL there. If only that were true for all jobs! 🙂

Good answers, Ali. Walking is great exercise and you seem to be in great walking territory. I totally understand about cats. They’re fairly independent. 🙂 — Suzanne

There are lots of lovely places to walk around here.
I like the way cats just do their own thing 🙂

Manoeuvring a hoover around furniture counts as exercise in my book 🙂

We had cats for our busiest working years. No one had a schedule that allowed for dogs. But I grew up with dogs — and wanted on. I didn’t imagine having quite so MANY. Didn’t want a giant dog with a lot of hair. Just a small, manageable dog. Well. Turns out size isn’t the issue. Big dogs are peaceful and sleepy. LITTLE dogs bounce all over the place and want to run around and bark and play. For a while, we had cats AND dogs (and two ferrets, too). When Big Guy, our last, best cat passed on, neither of us felt he could ever be replaced or even matched. He was an amazing cat, so we decided he would be our last cat. Ah, but what a cat he was.

In retirement, dogs are good company. Definitely more work than cats, but more like pals than pets. Our son lives here too, we can travel without worrying about who will take care of the dogs. If we didn’t have someone to care for them, it would be a very different story.

Vanilla. I go with vanilla. But fruit is good too. I’d rather just put stuff on top of the vanilla 🙂

Vanilla always works. Smooth, creamy and unpretentious.
There’s no way I would want to leave a dog all alone for 10 plus hours a day. A cat, on the other hand, would just sleep 🙂

I feel the same way about hugs! 😀 How funny!

Apart from the 2 extremes (hug everybody, or “leave me alone!”) I expect it’s quite a common way to be 🙂

Actually this is a new ice cream question…just worded differently. I’ve always asked if you were an ice cream what would you be. You have a remarkable memory. I sure enjoyed reading your answers.

I thought I remembered something about ice cream. Ice cream is one of my favourite subjects 🙂

Love the hugastrophe…. Vanilla is great- TOPPINGS! Looking forward to my next cat. Not in any hurry for the dog to pass! A fun read.

Shouldn’t there be two “g-s” — like huggastrophe. Otherwise, it looks like huge – ass – trophe.

You can do all sorts of things with vanilla. Or just eat it as is!

Instant coffee is good in vanilla ice cream also.
I love hugs but I hate when someone hugs me and latches on. It feels like they are hanging on me. Horrible. I avoid that person from that point forward. Shivers!

I like coffee but not in desserts for some reason.
      No-one likes a “latcher”!

LOL… it seems even your cats have to initiate hugs with you! 😉

Have you ever tried initiating a hug with a cat who doesn’t want to be hugged at that precise moment? 🙂

I seem to remember you saying vanilla before and questioning why people thought it was boring. But maybe that was someone else. I’m sad at the thought of your hugastrophe idea. There must be a half movement that lets both parties know whether to continue forward or not. Oh and vacuuming definitely counts. More housework = less gym membership.

I’m sure some sort of awkward jerking forward would let people know a hug is a possibility 🙂
I’ve never been a member of a gym but I sure eat a lot of ice cream! I don’t do much vacuuming though :-(.

MOL 😀 I feel like called upon Draliman. I think when you get yourself a cat, you’re getting easier into that hugging huggastrophe thing. The taste of the mice-cream can change any time, it’s like a snapshot, today I like the brown ones, tomorrow the white one… Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 ❤

I had cats years ago and they were the loveliest things. I don’t feel ready for the responsibility yet, though. Give it a couple of years 🙂
