It had existed since the beginning of time, its crystalline shell holding safe its essence. It had seen stars explode, planets burn. Many of these cosmic catastrophes it had caused, for it was bored and spiteful.

Now it had found a new victim for its amusement. The planet Earth.

Hiding in plain sight on a mantelpiece in a small terraced house in Catford, it gathered its will and made ready to strike…

… and smashed on the floor, its billions of years of existence and hatred shattered.

“Timmy! What have I told you about playing football in the house? That was a wedding gift.”

“Sorry, Mum!”

DrAli, I think I am confused, not sure.
I read the story twice, enlarged photo prior to reading your story then I read all the comments.
The story I read doesn’t seem to match some of your comments. Plus a few or more of your comments seem to be writing about different story’s.
So, great story DrAli, leave it at that.

There’s this timeless entity encased in crystal creating havoc in the universe. It’s currently on Earth masquerading as an ornament and is on the verge of destroying the world when Timmy hits it with a football and smashes it to bits, thus saving the world 🙂

This FF story gave me a flashback to a book my 8th grade language arts class read back in the day, and that I hadn’t thought about in ages. They’re not really the same, but there’s enough similarities in the plot to see why I would have thought of it…
