Sharing My World 2015 Week 29

Here is my Share Your World for this week, courtesy of Cee.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Either a train driver, a secret agent or a football (i.e. soccer) player. Sadly I was totally rubbish at football (though the teachers at school were nice enough to let me hand out the half-time juice). Life got in the way of my train-driving aspirations! Secret agent was never really an option.

What was your favourite food as a child? Do you eat it now?
Chocolate. Yes! But not nearly as much. If I start eating chocolate I get addicted, so it’s only for special occasions.

If you were invisible, where would you go?
Ooh, the possibilities. Heh heh ๐Ÿ™‚

It would be cool to sneak into some of these government meetings to see what actually goes on.

Would you rather forget everyone elseโ€™s name all the time or have everyone forget your name all the time?
I already forget everyone else’s name. I’m really rubbish with names. They take a while to sink in and get etched into my brain. Then I’ll go to talk to someone I’ve known for months and their name will be gone. Gone I say!

That comes across as rude so I’d rather it was the other way round.

So, you were a fairly typical boy when you were a kid and are a fairly typical adult now. But when it comes to writing fiction, I would hardly classify you as normal ๐Ÿ˜‰
I wanted to be a writer, a spy or a teacher. I loved chocolate as a kid, but hardly ever had it. I still love chocolate (dark only) but try to resist. I’m with you, I’d head for government meetings if I had the power of invisibility. Ha! I always forget people’s names. But I have an excuse and I’m sticking to it…I’m almost 70 ๐Ÿ˜›

      Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚
I ate mountains of chocolate as a kid and got pretty fat. When I stopped eating chocolate the last time (a few years ago) I dropped over a stone just like that!
I’m glad I’m not the only one with a blind spot for names.

I don’t fancy the idea of running around naked – it’s winter here at the moment and the coldest one we’ve had for years, but apart from that, even knowing I was naked, I would still feel a bit….exposed! (How long does this invisibility last, anyway? Could be awkward if it wears off suddenly and there you are, sitting in the Speaker’s chair!)

I do worry that if I were invisible and my clothes weren’t so I was naked, it would suddenly wear off at an unfortunate moment. Seems like a waste of a worry, using it on an impossible situation, but, hey… ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t feel bad. I forget names also. I can’t give age as an excuse as I’ve always had that problem. Remembering faces and forgetting names is embarrassing because you realize you’ve forgotten the name of the person in front of you and that you should know it. I haven’t changed with age memory-wise as I’ve always forgotten things then remembered them again. I just forget and remember more. Well done, Ali. ๐Ÿ˜€

I sometimes worry that I’m forgetting more than I used to but then I realise that I’ve always been a bit forgetful, especially about some things ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s funny how so many of us have problems remembering people’s names. I’ve always been like that. I never forget a face, but when I was teaching it took me all year to remember the names of everyone in all my classes. I agree about chocolate. Once started, there’s no stopping. Not at all good for the waistline.

Apparently, when you’re introduced to someone you’re supposed to say “hello, ” and that helps to lock it into your mind.
It’s a shame chocolate is so yummily addictive, given how calorific it is!

Yes, I relate. You know, the CIA (they have a public web site) are always recruiting. They have the absolutely BEST benefits.

I’m not really cut out to be a spy, even if they have dental. The romanticised idea is nice, though.

I’m denying everything… which is exactly what a secret agent would do ๐Ÿ™‚
      I never use names either – even when I think I know someone’s I’m worried I’m wrong.

I see people that look like people I grew up. But it couldn’t be them because I aged and they didn’t.
