St. Michael’s Mount Part 3

We’re nearing the end of our journey around St. Michael’s Mount. Here are my final photos! I uploaded them full size again because I can’t be bothered fiddling about :-).

A bit more impressive than my mantelpiece.

Back outside, but still up on the Mount.

St Michael's Mount 22

A view down to the gardens, which unfortunately were closed on the day I visited. It looks like they’re doing some work down there.

A lovely view out across to Marazion.

The little ferry boats are still running but it looks like the tide has gone out and the causeway is open!

St Michael's Mount 25

A final look out across the bay. I wouldn’t want to brave those cannons if I were invading.

St Michael's Mount 26

Yep, the causeway is open. I get to walk back.

View from the causeway.

A final look back. Goodbye, St. Michael’s Mount!

I hope you enjoyed my little 3 part tour around St. Michael’s Mount!

Lovely way to end the tour. Now you need to give us a travelogue for another beautiful place in Cornwall 🙂

Maybe I should have a Cornwall travelogue blog. A “traveblog” 🙂

Yes, Yes, Yes, Thank You for sharing. I had a marvelous time.
In photo three there is a small cottage with a grass roof on the beach. When you become all powerful from the last post, may I have that cottage please?

    Seriously very nice sharing.

Looks so much like Mt. St. Michael … but that’s French … or are they the same thing?

I think the French one was the “original” – according to Wiki the Priory of Mt St Michel was granted the island St Michael’s Mount is built on by soon-to-be William of Normandy, the French dude who invaded England in 1066, in return for their support.

I think I’d like to buy that place, just for the views! The history of the island sounds really interesting, too. Thank you for the lovely tour. 🙂

    I loved that tour. ❤
I particularly liked the detail on top of the mantlepiece and wonder if it was plasterwork?
