Sharing My World 2015 Week 43

Here’s my weekly post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

If you were on a debate team, what general subject would you relish debating?
This wouldn’t be a very good idea for me. You don’t want to get me started on something.

I’m thinking maybe

Is it okay to illegally steal music and films off the web rather than pay for them like a law-abiding citizen? If you feel something in a shop is too expensive, do you steal it instead? DISCUSS!

You can see by the slightly (!) biased way I phrased the question where I stand :-). I’ve already started my debate in the question, even!

The trouble is I might have to argue the opposite to what I believe on a debate team. Maybe I could do that, maybe not.

What’s your strongest sense?
My eyesight is pretty poor (though fine with corrective lenses). My sense of taste isn’t what it was thanks to decades of Tabasco abuse. My sense of touch is somewhat desensitised (at least on my thumbs) thanks to chewing on them. My sense of smell isn’t great either. So I’ll go for hearing, which is fine apart from the usual age-related degradation.

What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Was that it, then? The life and times of draliman.

List your favourite flavours or types of tea.
I don’t really like “normal” tea. I sometimes drink “fruity” tea, like blackcurrant and stuff. I suppose technically that’s a “fruit infusion” rather than a tea. Here is what’s in my cupboard right now. The worktop thingy I put it on for this picture was one of my birthday presents from my friends from round the corner. I have another flavour in my drawer at work.

I read a piece on the web that said you’re not really the “owner” of something off the web. If it’s removed, and it’s electronic, your’s goes also. The same thing goes for something on an electronic reader. It’s your’s as long as it’s there and no longer. If it’s wiped, you have to buy it again on that device. I don’t totally understand it, but it’s said anything electronic can disappear. Well done, Ali.

Yes, it’s only yours to use under licence, you don’t own it like you do a CD or book or whatever. It’s not the best, but it’s very convenient!

Mmmm, fruity tea infusions. I like the look of the one in the picture. I also like black tea either with or without sugar depending on my mood and the time of day. Can’t stand tea with milk. Debating? LOL only with a cricket bat or lump of 4×2 in my hand 😉

I bet you won all the debates 🙂
I can’t stand any drink with milk. Or indeed a drink of milk.

I did against the boys — especially if arm wrestling was involved 😉

I often play devils advocate just to get the debate going. But if it is something I am passionate about my dander gets up and I only see red. Like you, I’ll leave the debating to the debaters.

Good idea. There’s probably a difference between yelling and debating.

My husband like herbal teas too. I tell him “that’s not tea,” and then he sneers at me and drinks it anyway. Oh well.

Yes, I think to call it “tea” a tea plant needs to be involved somewhere!

It is really cool! It’s a “worktop protector”, or what I would call a “chopping board” 🙂

I’ve never been in an “official” debate. 🙂 These debating clubs and competitions and such at school are an American thing. Arguments, though…

My autobiography would be called ” You must be thinking of someone else.” And it would start like this: “Remember that time I did that really awesome thing everyone is still talking about? Yeah, me neither. You must be thinking of someone else.” And then it would be 500 blank pages.

I hope that debate doesn’t touch on the topic of stealing images off of Google, or I’ll have to offer up Dishwasher Dog to counterpoint….

Give me a nice cup of ‘proper’ tea and I’m happy. My daughters like fruity – and herbal – teas, but they aren’t for me. I guess I’m just old fashioned. Your autobiography title is excellent, so perhaps you should start writing something to go with it. 😀

I’m not such a fan of “real” tea, though it’s okay with lemon (I hate milk).
I’ll get started on the autobiography 🙂

It’s funny how many people don’t like milk – or can’t take it because of some allergy. I love the stuff and drink gallons of it. My cups of tea are more milk than tea. As for starting your autobiography, I’m sure it would be a fun read. 🙂
