Bah Humbug. Already.

The neighbouring house is lit up like a Christmas tree. I noticed it because that means my bathroom is lit up like a Christmas tree too. Well, it is Christmas, I suppose.

No, wait a minute. Or a month. It’s November. I guess these are the sorts of people who hide Easter eggs around the house in February.

Have you read “A Christmas Carol”? No, neither have I. I have, however, seen “The Muppet Christmas Carol”, which I’m sure remains faithful to the original. Though perhaps featuring more urchins and fewer frogs.

Dickens would have been proud.

I’m also visited by ghosts every Christmas. The ghosts of bank accounts past, present and future. I’ve even given them names. “Marginal”, “Shocking” and “Bankrupt”.

Never fear. I’m sure in three weeks I shall be “in the Christmas spirit” :-).

I’m with you right now. I haven’t been able to dredge up anything resembling seasonal enthusiasm. All I can think of is $$$$ and too much to do. Much too much to do.

hahaha to your post and rogershipp’s comment 😛

My feelings and moods, surrounding Christmas, vary from year to year. I’ve finished my shopping for this year. It’s all even wrapped and shipped. No big deal – just a few lil ‘i’m thinking of you’ gifts. My other half is giving out flash lights he ‘redesigned’.

Wow, you’ve done all your gifts already? I’ve managed to order a couple from Amazon so far which puts me ahead of my usual curve 🙂

My neighbor has a giant “Bah Humbug” pulsating sign. Gotta love the irony! 😀

Hilarious, Ali. They’ve made movies about situations like this. There are always people who plan too far ahead. They were no doubt overachievers in school also. You night want to keep your distance from those people. They might give you a guilt complex. They will probably be the first to throw out, or take apart and store, their Christmas tree. Then, on to the next holiday. I’d classify it as a form of sickness. It might even be catching. Well done. 😀 — Suzanne

There’s no way I’ll be catching that bug. I may or may not put up decorations, depending on whether or not I can be bothered to go up in the loft to get them 🙂

I agree! Christmas should start AFTER Thanks Giving not before. Oh wait, you don’t have Thanks Giving holiday.

I agree! Christmas should start on Dec. 1 not sometime in November. ;0(

    LOL!

I’ve got the neighbor who put her Christmas up *before* Halloween. I’m a stickler for after Thanksgiving and generally don’t give a crap what others do, but before Halloween? Sweet baby Jesus.

In October? Yeeks! Their decorations are probably up 20% of the year in honour of 1 day.

Wow, that’s way too early for decorating up – but lots of people do it, unfortunately. A week before Christmas can be too early sometimes. We always have a real tree, for a start, so if we got it too early it’d have no needles left by Christmas, Of course, if you’re a ‘Bah Humbug’ you won’t want to decorate up at all. (My husband would be like that if we all let him!)
