Sharing My World 2015 Week 48

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World. Week 48? I suppose I need to start thinking about Christmas cards and stuff. I’ll have to go up into the loft in a couple of weeks and get the decorations down, I guess. Yay!

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?
I’m not a big hugger. I especially never initiate a hug, I’m not about to force me on anyone. And I’m more comfortable hugging women than men. You know us blokes, all macho and whatnot :-).

The only person I hug regularly is my mum :-).

What is your favourite toppings on pizza?
Everything “normal”! “Normal” does not include seafood or pineapple or anything like that. Meat, pepperoni, cheese, tomato, stuff like that.

pizza

Is that extra cheese? Why yes, yes it is.

A friend of mine gave me a recipe for pizza base so yesterday I bought flour and yeast and whatnot. I’ll give it a go next week. I haven’t “baked” anything since the 1980s (a jam tart which ended up splattered all over the classroom floor), so wish me luck!

If you were the original designer of one existing corporate logo, which one would you select?
I’ve looked at loads of logos and I can’t really choose one. I’m sure after posting this a really cool one will catch my eye. Therefore, though it’s a charity and not a corporation, I’m going for the World Wildlife Fund, as they have a cute panda.

… at home, I guess!

Good luck on the pizza, Ali. I used to make pizza in my microwave/convection oven until someone “borrowed” the cookbook for the oven and didn’t return it. Ordering a small pizza is okay, and not expensive for me so I guess that’s better anyway. I like being at home also, so agree. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

I usually “enhance” a cheap shop-bought pizza but I thought I should give it a go at least once. Maybe it will be awesome 🙂

We chose the same logo. Not pizza though – I love pineapple.

      Yay pandas 🙂
I prefer my pizzas hot/spicy/meaty. Pineapple just gets in the way.

Louise @ Fabricating Fiction also picked the cute panda.
I just read hers…a moment ago.

Would panda be considered a non-normal topping for a pizza?

I think it would, yes, as the Pizza Hut employee said “get out of here, you sick bastard” when I asked for it.

Eh, better stick with the more traditional possum topping then…

I hope you enjoy your own homemade pizza. I made pizza a lot from scratch in the 1990s. 😀

I applaud your taste in Pizza, hugging, and panda support. I’m also very fond of the Durrell Foundation who breed endangered species on the isle of Jersey. I used to read Gerald Durrell’s books on collecting animals for zoos when I was young and am glad the foundation lives on.

I remember reading “My Family and Other Animals” at school. I don’t remember much about it though, my memory doesn’t really go back that far!

Let me know how your pizza goes! If it good… share the recipe. The experience could be a great blog!

That’s such a sweet answer to the hugging question 🙂

Let me know how this experiment in “cooking” goes. I have heard of “cooking” before and am quite interested to see how it turns out for you.

      Hee 🙂

I’ve just got to buy a couple of extra bits before I plunge in. Apparently “tinned tomatoes” is where the tomato part of the pizza comes from, and buying a rolling pin is preferable to hitting the dough repeatedly with a rolled up newspaper.

Maybe if it’s a success I’ll try this thing you humans call “ironing”.

I’m glad you hug your mum. Mum’s like hugs! As for making pizza… that’s a piece of cake – well, dough, actually. I used to make it regularly when i taught primary kids (oh boy!) for a couple of years, I made the dough and they did their own toppings. Such fun! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I love the WWF logo – good choice.

I’m gathering the ingredients slowly. How badly can it go, really? Just a bit of kneading and whatnot.

Yeah… We’ll need an update on your success with your ‘kneading and whatnot’. If the dough turns out well, you can always start a new cookery blog.. 🙂

Have you made the pizza yet? Awaiting pictures 🙂

I had to fly by your entry for Literary Lion…I’ll pass back by after I’ve come up with something.

Christmas comes too fast this year. I’ve finished the gifts – mostly stuff we’ve made for family and friends. Just have two more cans to air freshener to make…I like to decorate for each of the 12 days before Christmas. Not sure if that’s because I’m lazy or just like to spread out the fun parts.

Some time this week I’ll give the pizza a go!
Christmas always seems to take me by surprise these days. I guess it’s because I have to factor in the increased time it takes to get all the presents here on time.

Good luck with your pizza! They’re always fun to make from scratch. I have to disagree about the toppings, though – I love pineapple on pizza. 🙂 Great choice of logo. You really can’t beat a cute panda.
