“And here we have what was known as a ‘bar’. Please feel free to look around, and ask me any questions you wish.”

The crowd wandered around the little room, oohing and aahing.

“Excuse me, what was this strange table for?”

“We believe it was an educational tool. These balls probably represented planets, and helped patrons understand gravitational mechanics.”

The crowd oohed and aahed some more.

“What was in these bottles?”

“A good question! These held a flavoured mixture of toxic chemicals. They imbibed this mixture, would you believe?”

The crowd looked shocked.

“And these little plates held the burnt remains of a poisonous weed, smoked by the patrons.”

“My goodness,” said one of the crowd. “It’s no wonder they all died!”

“Indeed. After they blew their world apart, all our survey team found was this one little room, which we carefully transported across the galaxy to this museum. We can only thank Przzglub that these self-destructive hoomans never developed interstellar travel.”

The crowd nodded in agreement as they moved to the next exhibit.

Love this! I have wondered before about the artifacts we find from the ancient days – whether we are right about their purpose or not. Too bad the hoomans destroyed themselves by blowing up their world, drinking toxic chemicals and smoking poisonous weed! LOL! You’d think we would know better! (Hopefully, we do).

And also ancient scrolls which will probably turn out to be shopping lists! Hopefully we know enough to stop short of blowing up our world.

Nice, I had a laugh over the description of the everyday objects. 🙂

I bet we’ve got some things wrong with the artefacts we have from times gone by too 🙂

Funny! I love it! The explanation about the table reminded me somewhat of Ariel’s dinglehopper. 😉

If someone was in the restroom sleeping off a really long drunk, boy are they gonna be in for a surprise when they wake up!

Hilarious, Ali. Fairs fair. It’s true–it’s true. We probably have some things wrong about the cavemen also. Just recently it’s been found modern men do carry genetic material from the Neanderthals. Personally, I’ve heard of people who seem to have direct links. It’s also been found, since they were our ancestors, that they were smarter than we thought. What a coincidence. Some people’s family relatives today probably are not as smart. They might have been thrown out of an ancient cave for acting the way they so. 🙂 Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

I didn’t know that about the Neanderthals. I think our distant ancestors had lives very similar to ours, as seen in the excellent documentary “The Flintstones” 🙂

Those Hoomans were weird. Such strange aliens. Drinking toxic chemicals and smoking poisinous weed? No wonder they’re not around. Another fun read. Nice job.

I love this. I often wonder what our ancestors or aliens from another planet would think of the things we do. They once did something called “tweeting”. And they worshipped a strange orange man called Trump. So odd!

I’ve often thought that the biggest benefit of an extremely long life span would be to look back and have a laugh at “what we used to do”. I mean, look at 80s hairstyles. They looked normal back then!

Haha. Yes it would be interesting what another race would think of our bars and the things we do there. Great take on the prompt.

Love it, Ali! These strange ‘hoomans’ did some very odd things! Interestingly, I was watching Stargazing Live earlier this week where I believe they were using pool balls to demonstrate gravitational mechanics… 😀

See – the aliens’ guess as to the purpose of the pool table wasn’t so far fetched after all 🙂
