Sharing My World 2015 Week 4

Here is this week’s contribution for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

What one thing are you really glad you did yesterday?
Hmm. Umm. Well, it was Saturday.

I went to the supermarket. I bought petrol. I had an afternoon nap. I played Star Wars Battlefront and shot a bunch of people. And got shot/blown up by many more.

Maybe I should have timed this post after a day when I actually did something.

Are you generally focused on today or tomorrow?
Both, really, especially at work. Obviously I have to be focussed on what I’m doing at that moment, but I also have to keep a thought for deadlines and pending work so I don’t let anything else slide.

At home, I’m more focussed on “the now”. I can’t be thinking of tomorrow’s episode of “Walking Dead” while I’m in the middle of today’s, now can I?

Would you want a guardian angel/mentor? What would they tell you right now?
Nope. I can’t be getting hassled all the time with “helpful” suggestions, whether from non-corporeal being or human.

That said, hopefully right now they’d be telling me that they’ve given up, I’m a hopeless case, I never listen and they’re leaving :-). Toodlie-pipsky, annoying inner voice.

Would you rather live in a cave house or a dome house made out of glass?
Hmm, a nice cosy safe little Hobbit burrow or a big open glass house with, presumably, little privacy. Let me think… the Hobbit burrow for me! Hobbits are cool and they make very cosy houses.

Imagine how hot the glass house would get in the summer. You’d need a second mortgage just to pay for the curtains and air-con. And imagine what would happen if some neighbourhood kid kicked a football? Would the whole thing come crashing down?

Am I over-thinking this? No. Hobbit house!

Don´t know about overthinking, but overimagination you certainly have, so I´m not alone!

Indeed. There’s quite a bunch of us “over-imaginators” around!

The last answer is just ….
I agree too much hassle those fairy godmothers and mentors can be.
    XD.

Who wants someone whispering their opinion of “the right thing to do” in your ear all day long? 🙂

I wouldn’t mind a nice huge glass house if it was unbreakable and had one-way sun-reflecting glass. You wouldn’t even need air conditioning. Now that’s overthinking. Well done, Ali. 😀 — Suzanne

Hobbit houses look so snug in the films!

I have never seen the films, but I can imagine that they do. 🙂

You know the old saying…. people who live in glass houses should never go to the bathroom…

A nice little ranch. With palm trees. Where the cool breezes blow. Maybe Hawaii?

You know why Hobbits live underground, right? It’s because they love mushrooms and this way, they can grow them as potted plants 🙂

And because it’s nice and warm and cosy underground 🙂
A Hawaiian ranch wasn’t an option, sadly 😦

Geez! I really enjoyed all your answers. 😀 All those blowing up people and getting blown up, the annoying inner voice, and the hobbit house! Sounds fun (scratch the work part, deadlines are never fun). 😀 Shire is definitely a great choice!

*Fist Bump* on Battlefront. I LOVE that game. I kinda suck at it, but LM helps me get points for upgrades. Do you have PS4 by chance? And *Double Fist Bump* on the Hobbit hole. That’s what I’d go with, too.

I have a lot of fun with it! I’m pretty good at “Fighter Squadron” and occasionally get “number 1” on my team so I use that to quickly move up my “rank”, but sadly I’m rubbish at the rest (bottom quarter typically!). I’m playing a lot of “Jakku – Turning Point” at the moment as it’s always in the desert and I hate Endor – I can’t handle all the trees 🙂 Yes, I do have a PS4.

      Yay, Hobbits!

That’s the one I always play too. The best I’ve done is 3 though, it’s usually 5-7 place for me. My username is iheartthebard if you want to play sometime.

“Toodlie-pipsky” — is that a common saying or made up? I like it, it sounds very funny. And how could I forget the hobbit homes, they are great!

It’s sort of made up (but not by me, I think I heard it on Red Dwarf maybe). It comes from “toodle pip” which is (quite old) slang for “goodbye” (also, “toodles” and “toodle-oo” which are much more common).
Hobbit homes are the very epitome of class-meets-cosy 🙂

As soon as I find a secluded neighbor for hobbits, I’ll let you know. I get dibs on the the hobbit-house of my choice first… not because I’m selfish, just because I found the secret neighborhood. Of course, I will have to send the message to you in a secret code, or the whole world will know where the hobbits now live! (if you find the neighborhood first, you get first choice.)

I’d love to reply to this comment but I’m dashing out to find a Hobbit neighbourhood!
The secret code phrase for the finding of the Hobbit neighbourhood shall be “The orange hat stand remains fluid on a Wednesday.” That sounds so natural, no-one will ever suspect.
