Sharing My World 2016 Week 17
It’s time once again for me to Share my World, courtesy of Cee on her photography blog.
When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?
I always use a black Biro. This isn’t the best implement for me, handwriting-wise, but it slips around nicely so I can write quickly. I only write notes at work and my shopping list, so it doesn’t matter that no-one can read my handwriting! I haven’t written with a pencil since infant school, but it would certainly be more legible.
What’s your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?
I like jigsaws. Nice and relaxing, no brain power involved. My second choice would be word puzzles. I don’t really see the point of maze puzzles (unless I’m in one) and I can’t do numeric puzzles because my maths is rubbish :-(.
Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?
Short hair (which I have). Very easy to maintain, and tidy too! Though I occasionally get a rebellious thought and wonder if I should have long hair. I think I’m a bit old to be going through a hippy phase, though.
List five/some of your favourite blogs.
I think I’ll pass on this one. I wouldn’t want to miss someone out and upset them! As for types of blog, I follow all sorts – short stories, poems, photos, musings… anything goes!
Short hair really is the best for exactly the reasons you listed.

For sure! I’m all about low maintenance.

That is interesting about pens and pencils. I love pencils. They come in so many shades and thicknesses. I suppose pens do too. We are lucky to have such choice. 😀

It feels quite nice to write with a pencil. Every shade imaginable!

Good answers, Ali. If I was a man, I’d have short hair also. My son had his long for a while and got tired of taking care of it. He wore a pony tale when it was long. He also works in a law office as their librarian and has become conservative. I used to do crosswords but prefer to spend that time writing now. My dad loved crosswords. 🙂 — Suzanne

I’d like to do crosswords but my general knowledge isn’t up to it. I can do maybe 5 of the questions in the Sunday paper without resorting to Google!

I had to google black Biro..and so now I know 🙂

I Googled it too to see if it needed a capital “B” and it said “British English”, but I assumed it was actually used as a name for a ballpoint everywhere. I guess not! It’s named after the inventor.

I love it when I read something colloquial on your blog!

You are never too old to go hippie! You can always make long hair you retirement project if it is a problem at work. 🤓🦁

I’m sure they’d love it at work 🙂 It might be something to try after I retire, though!

That’s an idea – I’ll wait a while. Ageing hippies are cool 🙂

Geez, three straight commenters trying to encourage you to grow out your hair! I won’t make it four… short hair won’t hang down in your eyes while you’re putting those puzzles together…

That would be annoying 🙂

I would have to pass on that last question too! Nice answers!

My kind of guy. Although, about being too old for long hair? Around here, men of a certain age (mostly guys who have no hair in front) grow long, gray pony tails. I think they are rebelling against encroaching old age … or reliving their hippy roots.

I’ve seen that a lot on American TV. It looks kinda cool!

Thanks so much for sharing. I actually have started to do some actual handwriting again. It is kind of fun. 😀

It is, but I’m so unused to it now, it makes my hand hurt after a while!

I can’t do mathematical puzzles either. My brain just freezes up at the sight of numbers!

Mine too! Yucky numbers. I consistently “just passed” the maths courses at university.

A biro is such a useful thing. I like to use pencil, but they have a habit of breaking! And you can’t beat a good jigsaw for relaxation. I just had a funny vision of you in dreadlocks and I think you’re right to stick to short hair!

Hey, me in dreads… now there’s a thought. And coincidentally I have a haircut appointment tomorrow…

Wow! an opposite… I no longer have the time for a jigsaw. I probably have 15 new ones on a shelf. I thought- five years ago- that I would get into that hobby again over a winter. Basketball took over and jigsaw boxes only get dusted.

I don’t have much time either, but they’re very relaxing.
