Sharing My World 2016 Week 26

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

What’s your most memorable (good or bad) aeroplane flight?
I was en route to Cork (Ireland) for a job interview, but Cork was too foggy to land at. We circled around for hours while my presentation kept getting pushed back. Finally we landed at Shannon where I had a pint of Guinness before taking off again and arrived in Cork around six hours late. Obviously I missed my presentation and formal interview so we went for the interview over a meal at a five star hotel instead.

Result! And I got the job 🙂

How many bones, if any, have you broken?
I’ve never “officially” broken any bones, but I’m sure I’ve broken my little toes a few times. I read somewhere once that most people break their little toes many times over their lives. That could be an old wives’ tale, mind, but that “crack!” as you drive your toe into the coffee table lends weight to the myth!

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (guest can be dead, alive, famous or someone you just know)
That’s a tricky one, I don’t really know. I would go for three funny people though, so that there would be lots of laughs and no arguments 🙂

Make a Currently List: What are you reading, watching, listening to, eating, needing, wanting, and missing right now?
Reading
: “Hotel Alpha” (Mark Watson) for the village book group and “Magic Shifts” by Ilona Andrews

Watching: Scream (the series), Jericho, How I Met Your Mother, Continuum and Archer on Netflix, Preacher on Amazon, Star Trek DS9 (again) and ER (again) on DVD

For lunch time/tea time/before bed watching I cycle through my favourites start to finish – Dr Who, Buffy, Angel, Bones, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, ER, all the Star Treks.

Listening to: All sorts! I’ve been listening to “The Pretty Reckless” a lot recently.

Eating: my cake!

I’m chickening out of “needing”, “wanting” and “missing” 🙂

Ooo what’s continuum like, I’ve flicked past it a few times. If you have Netflix have you watched Orphan Black?

It’s pretty good. It started getting a bit weird at the end of series 3 so it will be interesting to see how series 4 works out. I’ve not tried Orphan Black, I keep flicking past it!

Your over-long aeroplane flight sounds like a case of ‘all’s well that ends well’. Perhaps it was just as well you limited yourself to a pint of Guinesss to fill in your time, or the later interview might have been rather strained. 🙂 It’s funny with little toes, almost everyone I know can say they’ve broken theirs. I know for certain I’ve broken the same one twice. The first time the only shoes I could wear for days were a pair of wide-fitting trainers.

      I only ever wear trainers!
Yes, the interview all worked out fine in the end. And I got a mini-break in Cork because it was cheaper for them to pay for a weekend in a hotel than fly me back straight away.

I’ll volunteer to be the first guest on your new talk show. That would be a sure ticket to cancellation…

Wow. There need to be more interviews over meals in 5-Star restaurants. And you got the job also. That was a win all the way. 😀 — Suzanne

I think the interviewers were pretty happy about it is well. They got quite a sumptuous meal out of it, and probably put them in a good mood too!

I have neglected reading this summer. It has taken me three weeks to reach a sort of equilibrium- although one of the weeks I was back in a college required class. I hope to start again next week. I am completing teh series BONES next week… All 10 seasons!

It’s a great series! You’ll be ahead of me – I fell behind somehow so I’m only up to series 9.

There’s something very satisfying about eating the cake you baked yourself, isn’t there? I’m told you can’t get fat if you back it yourself, especially if you eat standing up.

Oh, don’t chicken out, we wanna know!

I loved Jericho and was sorry it was only two seasons. I tried to watch Preacher but haven’t been as enamored with it yet. Maybe I will try again soon.

Yes I have broken a toe. And when I pulled it back in place — Aaaa — it was the worse pain ever.
We watch some of the same DVD’s all Star Trek and Stargate series, Dr Who, Bones, How I Met Your Mother.
    Not reading the same books.

First, congratulations on your job. I’ve never had broken toes but had lots of times I had bruised toes that resulted them go numb all the time. I need a pair of steel toe boots around the house!

Well…if I was gonna chicken out on something….saying anything about needing, wanting, needing would be three I’d choose, too 😛 I might write a universal feeling sorta poem about them, though.

I didn’t realise there were any, but I just looked and they’re on Amazon! Thanks for letting me know – I’m tempted 🙂

You should definitely check them out, we haven’t read all of them or the spin-offs (one day), but after being so frustrated with that ending, the comics helped since it picked up where the series writers were going anyway, from my understanding.

I think I will – I have a Kindle Fire which is colour so I’ll download the first anthology (1-5) on there and see how it goes (the paperback copies would cost over £100 for the whole lot which is a bit pricey). Thanks again, fellow Angel fan 🙂
