Limerick Challenge – Trust
Here’s my limerick for Mind and Life Matters’ Limerick Poetry Challenge. This week we had to incorporate the word “trust” in the first, second or fifth lines.
I had a few ideas but none of them panned out, and I’m only just recovering from being poorly (yay antibiotics!) so here’s a limerick about not being able to write a limerick about “trust”.
I wanted to write about “trust”
But the whole thing turned out quite a bust
The words wouldn’t come
Now the deadline is done
So I’ll publish this, just ‘cos I must.

Kudos to you for posting this, Ali! For not being able to write a limerick about trust, you still wrote a good one about not being able to write one (whoa, that was a lot of repetition on my part). You are dedicated indeed! 🙂 Wishing you a quick recovery.

You usually post a link before I do (not that it’s a competition or anything).

Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Ali. Creative way of writing a limerick without a subject. Good writing. 😀 — Suzanne

And if by chance our muse grows weary of us, we must then hope that our brains betray not our trust.
I enjoyed reading your limerick.
Good to know you’re feeling better, guessing the antibiotics worked.

I love it. I’m sorry you’re feeling badly, but it lead to a very nice limerick. It equally applies to writers block so I just may put it above my desk.

It does work for writer’s block too, yes! Just push through it, is the thing I reckon.

Yes hooray for antibiotics! Let us not even think about life before them. CLEVER limerick!

I’m glad you liked the limerick, and antibiotics are amazing. After just one tablet my appetite came back!

Another winner. I could publish this every third day as the lead in to whatever I’ve scratched together. It ain’t always easy.
