Sharing My World 2016 Week 36

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

If you were given a boat or yacht today, what would you name it?  (You can always sell the yacht later)
I would call it “The Happy Wanderer” as I’d be too scared to sail it anywhere so it would be ironic. And it would be a nice cheerful name when I came to sell it.

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best?  (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey) Plus what would the 8th dwarf’s name be?
In common with a few others, I guess “Sleepy” because I’m always tired. An ex of mine once even “forced” me to go to the doctor to get my thyroid checked. I can also be quite “Bashful” sometimes, and various people call me “Doc” on occasion.

As for the 8th dwarf, I don’t think “Grumpy” goes far enough. We need a truly nasty dwarf, hence “Asshole”.

Name a song or two which are included on the soundtrack to your life?
I know so many songs my mind has gone blank. Something about a promising start followed by a complete car-crash of a time ending with everything being okay. Anything come to anyone’s mind?

Complete this sentence:  I like watching…
Ooh, keep it clean, keep it clean… little bunny rabbits frolicking in sleepy summer meadows.

I also like watching water bubbling along little streams.

I love the step farther than “Grumpy”. Disney would probably roll over in his grave, though. It’s never gonna happen, Ali. 😀 — Suzanne

Aw, that’s a shame. I reckon he’d make an awesome addition to the team 🙂

I think Asshole is Doc’s real name… he just used his authority to pick a normal name so he didn’t become a dwarf stereotype like the others did…

Clever chap. They don’t call him “Doc” for nothing.

Asshole is a great name for the eighth dwarf! I love to watch a burbling stream, too. It’s very relaxing. 🙂

I might use the stream for the “what makes you feel grounded” question this week too 🙂

I suggest that you sell the boat immediately and use the funds to travel to New Zealand! 😀

That’s a LONG way to sail for someone who wants to keep the boat in pristine condition. 😉

Also a long way to sail by someone who’s never sailed a yacht! Calling Mr Coastguard…

You better take some sailing lessons first.

Bashful and tired? You sound just like me! As for 8th, how about Moron? (I don’t mean anything. It just came to my mind.)

I see you’re back at your full, witty strength, “Doc” Ali. Hilarious! You know, I picked that up from someone else’s comment on one of your posts once upon a time and figured you probably had a PhD in lasers/physics/something, so I started using it. That could be a story, or at least a meme, if it hasn’t been done yet. Alternate dwarf names. If it’s reaaaallly good, you ought to consider McSweeney’s, too. I like your ironic boat name; I think I might call mine Raymond Luxury and see how many people ‘got it’ (before I, too, sold it)! 🙂 And, finally, I think there are several (many!) songs that might fit that criteria. Most pop songs, it seems, end up somewhere kind of happy. One sprang to mind–“In the Rapids” by Genesis (but “It,” the song that follows ItR also has further lyrics and is more appropriate). Maybe “Resist” by Rush (a ballad-y song). I hope not “King of Pain” or “Lovetown” . . . Oh, I could continue on. You like Iron Maiden, if I recall; maybe “Futureal” or “Man on the Edge”? (if you enjoyed the BB years) Any Ozzy Osbourne (you’re not on a “Crazy Train,” I take it)? How about “I Can” (newer Helloween)? As I suggested, don’t get me started on this path. I’ll stop now. Your eyes are bleeding.

I didn’t get “Raymond Luxury” until I Googled it. Now I feel embarrassed. I should recognise such iconic British comedy! Thanks for the “soundtrack of life” recommendations!

Ooh, I wish somebody would give me a boat – any type would do. I love wandering, so your title would suit my boat, too. Love your photo of the bubbling stream. I’m guessing it’s somewhere in Cornwall. 🙂

I think it’s actually Lydford Gorge in Devon. I searched around to find a good picture so I don’t remember exactly 🙂
