Sharing My World 2017 Week 4

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

Do you prefer juice or fruit?
Juice is a song by “Chance the Rapper”. I haven’t listened to it as I already know I won’t like it. On the other hand, I love Froot as I’m a huge Marina and the Diamonds fan.

froot

Hang on, have I misunderstood the question? Ooooh noooo…

I prefer apple and orange as juice, but cherries and peaches as fruit.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?
Until I was five I grew up in a dinky village called Carnon Downs, but I don’t really remember it. I did most of my growing up in the “big city” – Cornwall’s only city, the teaming metropolis of Truro, some 20,000 or so people! It doesn’t get any bigger than that.

It was just fine growing up there.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colours would you use?
Sunshiny yellows as most of my childhood memories are of us cycling around the place in the sunshine during school holidays, our snorkel jackets worn only by the hoods.

I’ll also throw in a splash of red as I also have strong memories of Christmases, and red is a Christmas colour. Because of Santa.

Ways to Relax List: Make a list of what relaxes you and helps you feel calm.

  • Listening to the music
  • Walking in the Nature
  • Reading of the books
  • Watching of the Netflix

I have never heard of Marina and the Diamonds before, but they (she) look interesting from the picture. Maybe you should do a Monday music post as well!

Give her music a whirl, I think she’s great!
Funnily enough I just (re)took possession of my record deck and a billion 7″ singles from my parents. There must be some Monday Music fodder in there somewhere (if the record deck is compatible with my surround sound tuner, that is).

What a lovely picture of your childhood! And how funny perspective is; I would have said that I grew up in a small town, only about 25,000 people. πŸ˜‰

It’s a “proper” city – granted by Royal Charter rather than size (obviously!). And hey – it has 2-3 times as many people as the City of London…

I’m not sure what the cutoffs for “city” are here, but my hometown is currently 20,733 (wow, what a very specific number) and Wikipedia refers to it as a city. The largest city in the county, no less! But then, the largest city in the state (677K) is just across the county border…

Your childhood sounds lovely! And if I ever make it to your country, I will insist that we visit Truro rather than London for a day in the city. I prefer my metropolises to be around that size!

I can identify with your wonderful childhood and count myself lucky, too. Yellow is such a happy, carefree colour, and so much associated with summer. Your descriptions of your Cornish summers really made me smile. It’s funny how many of us remember the sunny days of our childhood the most. It hardly ever rained when I was little – according to my memories. πŸ™‚

Yes, I’m convinced that every summer holiday was endless sunshine. Mind, 1976 was! I’m sure it rains more than it used to 😦

I go so carried away looking at your Instagram pickle snack that I forgot to comment to let you know I’ve been here. Are those beans and pickles and cheese? Hmmmmm….

It was less of a snack, more of a full meal, as it turns out πŸ™‚
