Sharing My World 2017 Week 17

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?
Something sugar-free and fizzy straight from the fridge. If it has a little ice floating in it, all the better!

Lemonade and Coke

Mmmm. Nearly no calories of tasty refreshment.

Complete this sentence:  Never In My Life Have I…
… visited the extra-dimensional space, that space between spaces, the world you can only catch glimpses of out of the corner of your eye, the land where the fairies live. And Hobbits too, probably.

If you could be given any gift what would it be?
Not wishing to sound greedy, but just the one gift, is it?

Then I shall take the gift of dance, that I may bring joy to the world with my snappy footwork. Or a million pounds. I haven’t quite decided.

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? Do you count sheep, toss and turn, or get up and try to do something productive?
I get little phases of this maybe a couple of times a year for a couple of days. Generally I just toss and turn for a bit. It usually happens during the summer when it’s a bit hot.

Go for the gift of dance. Anyone can be a millionaire, but not everyone can dance. Being able to dance would set you up for life and you’d also become a millionaire. I mean, look at Fred Astaire, Rudolph Nureyev, Gene Kelly… ummm… Michael Jackson 😀

It would be cool to be able to dance, rather than just jiggle my arms and legs around in an embarrassing manner 🙂

    Take the million pounds! 🙂

I can’t sleep either if it is too hot. That is why I have an electric cooler in my bedroom window in the summer. It helps me sleep much better! I like very very cold fizzy drinks too to quench my thirst.

We don’t generally have air con in this country in residential premises, but it doesn’t get massively hot. I always pop a fizzy drink in the freezer for half an hour before bed to make it really icy cold 🙂

You are very fortunate to not have to need AC in the summer! We have to have it here because it gets too hot.

I had heard the stories of actual fairies that existed and know it is true…I just hope they do not exist with Hobbits. I am not into Hobbits.

Not into Hobbits? Boo 😦 Though they do strike me as a bit annoying and prone to silly jokes and tricks 🙂

I do not like anything the least bit scary. They qualify as scary. It’s not like they bathe regularly or anything either.

For the gift, dancing is good but I think I’d lean more than a bit toward the money. Good answers, Ali. 😀 — Suzanne

For some reason, it surprises me that you like zero-calorie fizzy drinks (‘fizzy drinks’ is another phrase I learned in the UK). Do you track your daily calorie intake?

As if 🙂 If my jeans get a bit tight I know I need to eat less! I’m not sure when I started with the zero-calorie drinks, but the sugary ones are too sweet for me now. I was probably more worried about the tooth-rotting than the calories.
What do you call fizzy drinks in your neck of the woods? Carbonated?

Good rule of thumb, as long as you don’t accidentally wash your jeans with hot water. 😊
Colloquially, we call fizzy drinks ‘pop’. ‘Carbonated drinks’ is the formal phrase we use.

My jeans get 40C and then 40 minutes of tumble drying, the same as all the rest of my clothes 🙂 I don’t like fiddling with the controls.
We also have fizzy pop. But still “fizzy” 🙂

To me reading a book before going to bed makes me sleepy–better than sleeping pill. So I read a book when I wake up at night.

Snappy footwork or a million pounds? Hmmm, let me think… I’ve ‘thunked’ and decided that snappy footwork isn’t at all vital to life, but a million pounds would be oh SO useful! Take the money, I’d say – should the opportunity ever arise! 🙂
