Sharing My World 2017 Week 18

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?
No.

You want an actual answer. I’ll rephrase.

No.

Okay then, if I have to answer, cold. At least in a cold climate I can put on more clothes and switch on the heating. There’s not a lot you can do when it’s too hot.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?
Definitely short. Long hair can get annoying (and my hair’s never been particularly long).

What is your favourite month of the year?
That’s a tricky one.

December has Christmas in it but it’s pretty cold. June to August can be quite warm so that’s nice. Back when I was younger September was very nice, warm and dry, but in recent years it’s been pretty wet.

Every month has its plus and minus points. Except January. January’s just rubbish.

What is the easiest way for your to learn something new?  By reading, by seeing and doing, in a classroom?
I like to do things. Someone can tell me and/or show me how to do something all they like, but until I’ve tried it myself it doesn’t really sink in.

I prefer cold over hot for the same reasons. 🙂

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one that needs hands on experience to learn something!

It’s true for many, I think! I can do an exam on stuff I’ve read but I’d never be able to apply it.

Cold for me! I also like to learn by doing. My next projects include brain surgery and an inflatable car 😀

Good answers, Ali. I agree it’s easier to learn something and remember it if you do it yourself. 🙂 — Suzanne

I would put February on my “least desirable” list. Probably that’s why it so short. A terrible month with terrible weather. Except this year when it was more like summer that the weather is right now. Weird.

I could write a whole post explaining why I hate pretty much every month…

Cold for me. You can add layers of clothes until you look like the Michelin man, but when it’s hot, you can only take so much off and remain out of jail :p
March, April, May, August and September are my favourite months.

Maybe they should change the name of January to “Rubbish.” I would enjoy flipping my calendar and seeing that on it…

Ah, then you would like the west coast of Canada (Vancouver).

I always assumed the whole of Canada was a bit on the chilly side 🙂 Where I live we generally get temperatures between 0 and 25C.

The Vancouver area (the Lower Mainland) has a temperate climate due to its location between the Pacific Ocean and the mountains. Very similar to your climate!

It is. 😊 I spent most of my life there. There, they react to snow in as much of a panic as people in the southern parts of the UK. 😉

Great answers. I’m definitely with you on (1) and (4). I’m going to pick June as favourite month – longest day, getting things done. December might have Christmas, but it’s cold, dark, and hard to get through.

Yeah, Christmas doesn’t really make up for all the coldness, wetness and darkness.

Too much heat is definitely unbearable, but in Britain, most summer’s never get too hot (unless you lived through 1976, that is!). Too cold is equally unbearable – and January is always ‘rubbish’. Cat napping seems to be the only answer in both cases. 🙂 As for learning new things, I think the saying ‘I do and I know’ still stands for most of us. 🙂

I remember 1976. Great summer, that! As kids all we saw was hot sunny days, our parents were the ones who worried about drought and whatnot 🙂
