Sharing My World 2017 Week 26

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

What is something that people are obsessed with but you just donโ€™t get the point of?
Well, there are things I’m really into and I can’t understand how other people don’t get the point. So I try not to judge. Everybody’s different and everyone likes different things.

After all, who wouldn’t want to spend 6 hours of a Sunday afternoon disembowelling Orcs and such?

What quirky things do people do where you are from?
I haven’t really noticed anyone doing anything quirky. Probably because I do the same quirky things so they seem normal ๐Ÿ™‚ Fresh eyes would be required.

What are some things you wish you could unlearn?ย
I can’t really think of anything. If I took the trouble to learn them in the first place there must have been a reason. And it’s not like my brain is full and I need to make room…

Who is someone that you miss having in your life?
Hmm. People come and people go. It would be nice to spend some more time with my Gran, who passed away 17 years ago or so. She was such a kind person.

Did you notice how I pretty much didn’t actually answer any of the questions? Does that count as a “quirky thing?”

I loved my grandmother but if she came back she’d probably be disappointed I’ve gained weight so it was probably better I was thinner the last time she saw me. She was almost 93 so lived a long life. Let her rest in peace. Good non-answers, Ali. ๐Ÿ™‚ — Suzanne

    I think it’s called evasive quirkiness. ๐Ÿ™‚

Such evasiveness, and an affinity for disemboweling orcs, makes me wonder if you aren’t actually a politician….

I can neither confirm or deny that speculation.
Do politicians disembowel a lot of orcs during their day-to-day business?

It can be a tricky business, not answering questions ๐Ÿ™‚

Dodging around the questions is the whole point. You do excellent non-answers. Have you considered politics?

I don’t think I have the killer instinct.
Sometimes when I see interviews with politicians I just want to scream at them “answer the damn question!”

We all need a little evasiveness now and then and your non-answers make a nice change :). Grandparents are often missed so much and I can appreciate your answer for that one. I still think of mine at times, even after so many years. Disembowelling orcs sounds like fun but I haven’t seen any orcs round our village for a while. Perhaps when we move house I’ll find a few. ๐Ÿ˜€

You have to make sure you’re not moving to an Orc zone. Estate agents are pretty cagey about that sort of thing, you have to do your own research.

Orc zones are pretty common around here, so we may have to look further afield. ๐Ÿ˜€

Please vote for the orc disemboweling party. We definitely will, maybe, perhaps, stand, then sit, if, of course, we are elected. It will be doubleplusgood!

I will! We have a real orc problem in some parts of the country and I feel your party will put an end to all goblin-related nonsense.

Just what IS your problem with Orcs, mate? Don’t judge them all by the actions of a few vile smelly ones. That’s a hate crime, that is!

I feel properly ashamed now. I’m judging the whole orc community based only on EVERY FANTASY NOVEL EVER WRITTEN ๐Ÿ™‚

I see. I will now attempt to write a fantasy novel about a sensitive Orc to redress the balance. I will let you know when it is published. I trust you will be reading it, as you appear to have read EVERY OTHER FANTASY NOVEL IN EXISTENCE. ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh, ‘Sir’, is it? Well, you can say whatever you like, young man. You may be extremely well read but you clearly have little idea of the work involved in writing, editing, publishing and marketing a novel. Whilst your enthusiasm thrills me I think Monday week is a little ambitious. Shall we say the Monday after?

Hmm, I hadn’t noticed you hadn’t really answered the questions until you pointed it out, so maybe thatโ€™s a quirk. And youโ€™re right, you donโ€™t notice the quirks of familiar people and things. Each to their own on watching the disembowelling of Orcs. I think that might be quirky rather than obsession, but wait to be corrected.

It’s not just Orcs. Disembowelling any nasty creature will do ๐Ÿ™‚
Familiar quirks become “normal behaviour” in time I guess.
