Sharing My World Week 34

Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.

share-your-world2

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?
Always off, unless I’m about to go back in. Electricity isn’t cheap, and the more you use, the more pollution is created by the power station.

I don’t actually turn most of the lights off, I tell Alexa to do it for me. And the kitchen is on a motion sensor. Light switches are soooo last year.

What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?
Dunno, that’s a very middling amount of money (currently £390). I don’t need anything for that amount of money at the moment so I’d probably buy more Premium Bonds. Unexpectedly winning a vast amount of money against all odds would be pretty enjoyable.

Complete this sentence: My favourite thing to do on my cell phone is…
… ummmm. My mobile phone is a tool. I don’t really do “enjoyable” things with it, so I guess taking photos sometimes when I arrive at work and there’s a lovely sunrise.

What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
As usual, nothing. I go to work, I come home. I guess I’m a difficult person to inspire.

It is going to be an interesting day when Alexa decides that she is through turning off lights on command….

Phones are so useful for photos and, unlike big cameras, are things most people carry around all the time. Your capture of that sunrise is stunning. 🙂 I hope your premium bonds come up for you one day. That could be a heck of a lot more than £390!

It’s a bit like the lottery, except you get to keep your original investment. Fingers crossed 🙂
There are a lot of shots I would never have got without my phone. I certainly don’t lug my camera to work every day!

I have never found anything fun to do with a cell phone. Except I REALLY enjoy turning it off and not having to listen to it make a variety of meaningless electronic noises.

Just mute it, that’s what I do 🙂
Actually, sitting here at work using it to listen to music reminds me that’s an enjoyable use for it.

Sounds like you need some inspiring motivational quote to ponder. Opening my book of inspiring motivational quotes at random I find,…
“Man does not live by bread alone; he needs buttering up once in awhile.”

Oh well. Have a great afternoon over there and think of us watching the eclipse today. 🙂

      Hope you enjoy the eclipse!

A friend who lives not far away does welding, so we stopped in and could see it through his welding helmet. 🙂

It’s funny to think that once upon a time taking a picture and getting it developed required much planning and money 🙂

I’m awful about not turning the lights off. Kills my husband. He’d love to have motion sensor lights, but I’m not sure I’ll tell him 😉

People leaving lights on really winds me up. There are people at work who absolutely must have the lights on in the office regardless of how light it is already. I spend my time making sarcastic comments about it 🙂
