Sharing My World 2017 Week 44
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?
Yes 🙂 Depends on the lesson. Physics and English were easy. Well, English language. English literature was rubbish. I couldn’t understand what Shakespeare was saying half the time. Maths and Latin – urgh.
It wasn’t any fun, either. I don’t suppose it was meant to be. University was much better!
List some of your favourite types of animals.
Anything cute and fluffy. Like cats and whatnot.
What is your favourite large city you have been to? What is the one thing you remember most?
I’ll go with Stuttgart. I tend to avoid big cities and keep my head down, but I lived in Stuttgart for a year. Well, on the outskirts, but we spent a lot of time in the city. I liked the lovely gardens and the woods next to where I lived. It was before digital photography unfortunately, so no photos.
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
My village friends gave me some lovely things this week. First, they wouldn’t let me contribute when we went to see Thor Ragnarok last Tuesday (great film, a must-see!). Then I got a “limited edition” school photo of their eldest, and finally I got a cushion sewn specially for me on her new sewing machine! Here it is. Pretty cool, huh? 🙂

Shakespeare was a hack. Physics and math would seem to go hand in hand (I came to despise both, at least on the college level), so it’s weird that you found one easy and the other urgh…

Yeah, it’s weird. I barely passed maths at university. Fortunately I only had to take it for the first two years, really dragged my grades down…

Didn’t he look different with short hair? Like an accountant rather than a god. Great mix of action and comedy, though.
(I nearly said who chopped it off but IMDB says it’s not released in the States yet and I don’t want to add any spoilers.)

I liked English and literature. Was afraid of maths! And then ended up doing bookkeeping for a few years. Go figure 😀

I hated maths a massive amount. Still, bookkeeping sounds like a different type of maths to solving surface integrals and wave equations (physics-orientated maths) 😦

You had to go and mention those sciencey thing again! 😀 I would not know a surface integral if I fell over it and the only waves I like are at the beach 😀

College IS more fun than the school that comes before it. I keep trying to get this information through to my granddaughter, but she is stuck in how horrible high school was.

That cushion looks very comfy! I always hated maths at school, as well, though I found physics to be equally as unpleasant. English, art and history were always my subjects. Great answers, Ali. 🙂

Physics was easy? I might have to stop talking to you now. I took it for A level, failed the fist time, just passed the second and haven’t given it another thought since, phew. As for Shakespeare, it’s supposed to be performed on a stage, so why we have to sit and read it, get bored, go off it for life, beats me. On a more positive note, it’s great to know you have such lovely friends in the village.

I ended up getting a PhD in Physics so I guess my brain is just wired that way 🙂
I guess Shakespeare would be worth giving a go on the stage. It would probably make more sense too. My village friends are great 🙂
