FF – Misplaced Sympathy

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by JS Brand.

Five scuba gear-clad heads appeared above the glassy ocean.

“There’s the target, lads. We can’t mess this up. Danny ‘Drug Man’ Davis is responsible for hundreds of deaths. Check your explosives.”

“Wait a sec. He’s staying there? What a dump!”

“Yeah, it looks like someone picked up a load of houses and stacked them on top of one another.”

“From high class casinos and Lamborghinis to this pathetic shambles?”

“How the mighty have fallen. Poor bastard.”

“He’s suffered enough. Do we abandon the mission?”

“Nope.”

“Is he even in there?”

“Who cares? That shameful excuse for a hotel’s gotta go.”

I’m pretty sure I stayed there … or some place just like it!

Maybe they’re judging the exterior too quickly…. and Drug Man is responsible for hundreds of deaths – no pity for him! Bang!

from the way it looks, it’s good cover for somebody who wants to keep a low profile. he might as well be there.

Far better than a high class hotel. But they found him anyway!

Eeek! Has anyone suggested to these guys that it’s rather hypocritical to kill hundreds of people to get a guy who’s responsible for hundreds of deaths? Just saying…

I’m thinking they pull the fire alarm, shoot Drug Man when he exits, then blow up the hotel. ‘Cos the hotel’s gotta go.

That place is a mess but might be just a front. There might be a tunnel leading somewhere grander. The danger is they might overdo it and blow up a city block. They don’t sound like the kind of men I’d hire. They sound like the Marx Brothers. 😀 — Suzanne

Reminds me of the hotel I was forced to stay at on my game show trip. Does it also charge $400 per night for one of its shitty rooms?

Maybe he’s there only to exit through a tunnel down somewhere. As it is the place needs no mercy at the moment…only an excuse will be sufficient. Loved the glassy ocean. Made me think of the movies like Jaws. 😀

Whenever there’s a “glassy ocean” you can be sure that something lurks underneath! I expect he has gone down a tunnel now, while they were floating there talking. I’m glad you liked it 🙂
