Tolerance Wood – a COW story
Another year, another February and it’s time for the Contest of Whatever hosted by Evil Squirrel over at the Nest.
Ah, February. Not the best month, with audits and long work days. Nevertheless, I have popped something together! It’s not the best but I’m sure you will applaud my mastery of Photoshop.
This year we had to incorporate elements from three different pictures chosen by ES. Here is my entry, “Tolerance Wood”. In the true spirit of the Nest, it’s not family friendly 🙂
It was a quiet and peaceful day in Tolerance Wood, when suddenly…
“Dada, Dada!”
“What is it, dog I found wandering lost I’ve asked not to call me ‘dad’ but won’t listen?”
“I saw the most awful thing in the woods. A man and a… a pig in a bath tub. Knowing each other. In a carnal fashion.”
“Are you sure, dog?”
“Yes, Dada, yes! Well, if the expression on the man’s face was any judge. It is etched into my memory.”
“Well, dog. We live lives of understanding and acceptance here in Tolerance Wood and I’m sure that all is well. Let’s go and see if the brothers Nintendo know what is happening.”
And so, teddy bear and dog went to visit the brothers Nintendo. They soon found them bouncing up and down on mushrooms catching coins and power-ups and whatever else they do. I’ve not played the game myself.
“Brothers Nintendo! Dog has seen a most wondrous thing in the woods! A liaison twixt man and beast, and our tolerance and acceptance demands that we greet those involved and welcome them to our forest.”
And so off they all went, and soon found the pair together in their little house.
“Hello and welcome to Tolerance Wood! I am Teddy, this is dog and these are the brothers Nintendo. And a strange green thing.”
“Thank you! We are new here, and much in love, but have been hounded from place to place on account of our unconventional love. We thought that a wood called ‘Tolerance’ would be just perfect.”
“Here in Tolerance Wood, all are welcome. We are accepting of all, and love between man and pig is no exception… wait, what am I saying? This is an affront to nature! String them up!”
“String them up! Lynch mob! Lynch mob!”
And so, with the bodies of man and beast swinging merrily in the trees, everyone went home and had a nice cup of tea. Because evidently ‘Tolerance’ will only go so far.
I do so enjoy pork loin!

I am VERY impressed by your Photoshop work. I just can’t do it. I wish i could, but I’m always impressed by anyone who can. That you used your talents for this is even MORE impressive. This is delightfully perverse.

It’s the first time I’ve tried anything other than image resizing! There’s this cool little selection tool that snaps into place around heads 🙂
I’m glad you liked my entry!

I can cut heads out and paste them on bodies with the best of them (since yesterday when I found the correct tool) 🙂

Loads of fun. We should all visit Tolerance Wood… or maybe not. HA! Good job. ES should be impressed.

They only seem to be tolerant to things they already accept…

Glad to hear things in Tolerance Wood are the same as ever and tolerance only ever goes so far. Your deadpan, almost child-like delivery to this, makes it all the more unsettling.

It’s such a shame that the man and beast’s daughter has her head turned… I would love to see what a pig girl looks like….
This was excellent, and somebody got killed… so I know it’s an authentic Draliman entry! Thank you so much for another perfectly twisted submission! I would just like to contest the part about The Nest not being a family friendly blog… I will just let you know that Mitzi allows her two kids to read my content, so it must be wholesome and innocent!

I did feel a bit bad about the daughter but trying to Photoshop her out was probably beyond my skill set!
Oh, well, if Mitzi lets her kids read it then it must be “suitable for all”. Or maybe it’s just more wholesome than what they see at home…
I’m glad you liked it, anyway!

I did and I hope you win…my creativity is busted this year, so no entry from me. Good luck Ali!! 🙂

Ha-ha-ha! This is hilarious! Love the photoshopping! This should make people/animals think twice before relocating to Tolerance Wood. 😀

A great story, with a nice gruesome ending to boot. Yes, it does seem that tolerance will only go so far. 😀 A fun read and I’m impressed with your Photoshopping. I haven’t really given it chance, despite having bought the thing ages ago.

I bought Photoshop Elements (my budget and expected usage didn’t stretch to the whole thing). This is the first time I’ve tried snipping bits of images out, it’s quite an impressive tool!
I’m glad you liked my entry 🙂

Your post is great! Louise uses Photoshop all the time, but I stick to picmonkey of ipiccy for the simple things I do on my blog. Photoshop is too technical for me. Simple tools for a simple girl. 😀

It does seem quite complicated! I have Lightroom for pure photo processing but I got Photoshop Elements just for manipulating images. But full Photoshop is a professional tool, way beyond me 🙂

Entertaining story, and using Photoshop is a plus! I have no idea about any of that. 🙂
