Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
Do you use paper money? If so is your money organised sequentially according to denomination?
You have to use paper money in my business. It can’t be traceable. It can’t lead back to you. Paper money. Or Bitcoins.
No, wait, I work in IT. I’m not a mobster. Forget I said anything. IT, got it?
I always make sure I have some paper money in my wallet and change in my pocket. You never know when you might need it. Everything and everyone is NOT set up for a cashless society. Try buying a 99 with hundreds and thousands from the ice cream van using a credit card.
Just a few weeks ago the card readers were down at the petrol station. Fortunately, I had cash to pay with! And yes, it’s organised by denomination (though I usually only have tenners and fivers).
You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?
Am I? No, I’m not. Just sitting there, doing nothing at all? I don’t think so.
What is your greatest strength?
Ooh, I don’t have any. Or they’re all equally strong. Or not strong. One of those.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?
My wild garden has begun to bloom.
It’s not supposed to be a wild garden. I just haven’t done any gardening.
I took this photo a few minutes ago, just before 7am. It’s supposed to reach 20 degrees later on, but right now it’s bloody cold.

Lovely post! When visiting family in the US, I shop to fill my suitcase allowance for my trip back to Asia. Here in Hong Kong, it’s quite nearly a cashless society, a card for almost everything. But for travelling back to the States, I exchange money at the bank and carry a wad of new bills. My family always jokes that I’m like a criminal shopping with my cash. I definitely MUST keep my bills in order (what crazy kind of person wouldn’t … haha). Enjoyed getting to know you a bit better. Love your garden … I personally have somewhat of a “black thumb.” =)

Certainly here in the UK you can pay for most things with cards. Under £30 you don’t need the PIN either, you just wave your card around. However, when it comes to street markets and the like – they don’t take cards, typically. However, cheques pretty much died a death years ago fortunately (though I still have a cheque book I haven’t written one for years). In fact, shops don’t generally accept cheques so they’re only good for sending through the post.
I assume a “black thumb” means your plants all die? 😦 I’m aware that Americans say “green thumb” for a good gardener (we say “green fingers”).

Yes, according to the Urban Dictionary … “A wannabe gardener who kills plants. Opposite of green thumb.” Haha … I think green fingers sounds more logical though. I too used cheques many many years ago, my how things change. =)

I suspect a “cashless society” is a dream. I can’t see it happening in the near future. It’s right up there with what people thought would be a paperless society because of computers. It’s not a Star Trek-like civilization just yet. 🙂 — Suzanne

I imagine a totally cashless society won’t come until we have little chips connected to our banks embedded in our wrists 🙂
We have a “paperless office”, but everybody still uses notepads…

How cool is that? I suddenly find myself wanting one – I’m definitely going to put it on my list. I never knew such things existed! One of the reasons I don’t do notes and lists on my phone is because I don’t find it easy to type on the dinky keyboard. Amazing!

I did some gardening today but I left that bit alone. It seems like a shame to spoil it even if it is a little out of control.
I rarely have more than about £15 or so myself. Just enough for emergencies 🙂

Of course your notes are stacked denominationally. Whose aren’t? I mean it must get so confusing with all those different colours and sizes.
Love the wild garden. Nature has her way of making us feel bad for doing nothing, but in your your ability to sit and do nothing is serving your garden well. It might need watering through, after long hot days of sun!

I was thinking I might need to water my garden but fortunately when I looked outside an hour ago it was chucking down with rain so crisis averted.
