A Lanhydrock Selection

In the absence of Share Your World this week, here is a small selection of photos I took on a visit to Lanhydrock a few weeks ago.

I’d give you some history of the place but I’m more interested in looking around than reading the little information notices.

Now, that is a luxury bathroom! Beats our tin bath in front of the fire.

Great photos. You Brits are lucky with your castles and manors to tour. 😉

There’s loads all over the place 🙂 It’s fun to see how they lived back then.

One of those informational signs may say something like “If you are taller than the hedges, be warned that you may be decapitated by a giant buzzsaw at any time. Thank you for visiting today!”

I’m not a big fan of such extreme topiary, I have to admit.

They knew how to live back then! The rich people, anyway…

Love the bath tube! Isn’t it interesting that we are sharing a very similar content at almost the same time? I think it is very cool 🙂

Looks like a really beautiful place! I would enjoy visiting a place like this. Where I live, the oldest of buildings are 150 years old, at the very most.

Most of the old houses around here are from the 16 or 1700s but we have a few cool castle ruins from the triple digit days 🙂

I bet there are a few if you look around. I’m often amazed by what’s on my own doorstep, it sometimes takes a friend who has visited Cornwall to make me aware of them as they’re actually looking rather than just driving back and forth to work 🙂
