Sharing My World 20181118

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

What’s the most ironic thing you’ve ever witnessed?
No idea. I’m sure over the years I’ve witnessed some doozies but I can’t remember them. I do sometimes get a great situation at work where the system tells me there’s been some sort of error, but it can’t tell me what it is because the error reporting system has also experienced an error. That’s pretty ironic.

Let’s talk turkey. Pro or con? If pro, which part do you enjoy most? Is it for Thanksgiving (American Style any way) only?
Obviously we don’t have Thanksgiving in the UK – over here we traditionally eat turkey on Christmas Day. I like the breast meat best as do most of us, and Dad takes the legs.

If you’d like, share one thing you wish you’d said to someone else, but now you’ll never have the chance.
I can’t think of anything but that’s for the best. Let’s not dwell on missed opportunities.

What odd smell do you really enjoy?
Another blogger mentioned petrol (well she’s American so she called it “gasoline”) and that made me think, me too! Only in the proper place, mind. I wouldn’t be so keen if I smelled it in my house, or while I’m driving down the road…

Thankful November… share a story or time when someone did something really great for you. Alternatively, share your gratitude moments during this past week.
Number 15 is back! Yes, folks, it’s true. Three recycling collections (6 weeks) ago, Number 15 was appropriated by another household, leaving me with an older more tatty cardboard recycling bag. But this week, Number 15 came home! Welcome back, Number 15!

Wow, #15 came home. Did it have any stories of its adventure? Did it seem glad to be back? 😀 — Suzanne

I do so hate it when the recycling bags go walkabout. The first ones we had were fitted with rubber weights sewn into the base so they stayed put, but false economies have now stipulated they are produced weightless so they travel widely!

Mine are pretty heavy. The one I ended up with had “18” on the top so I’m assuming they had good old #15. I’m glad to have him back!

There is nothing quite like the smell of freshly spilled gasoline. It was one of my favorite smells as a kid (And may explain why I turned out so weird)…

#15.,. is he any relation to #5 from Short Circuit?

Best not to sniff too much of it…

Thanks for Sharing Your World…as always unique! Gasoline or petrol (tomato, tamahtoe) is perhaps the most unusual odor people admit to enjoying. Me? It gives me a wicked headache real quickly. But someone recently mentioned they like the smell at low tide, which is odd. Good thing we’re all so different, else how boring would life be? And your recycle bag coming home? Woo hoo!! Did you know they’d taken it?

Here we have bins. If someone tried to snag the bin, the ‘recycling police’ would get them because they’re actually bar coded with information linking them to the owner’s home address. We used to have plastic square bins that you could pick up and carry to the curb, but they didn’t hold much really. I like my wheelie bin quite a lot.

Actually, thinking about it, the low tide smell can be quite nice 🙂
I was pretty sure they had #15 but it felt a bit petty, especially as time passed, asking to swap their tatty old bag for my almost-brand-new one…
I find bags easier to store than bins! We currently don’t have bins as the council’s contractors would have to spend millions on new rubbish and recycling lorries with the lift at the back. I have a bin for garden waste, though.

Haha–I love when the computer tells me there is an error but can’t identify it. 🙂

Yeah, if the computer doesn’t even know, it must be really bad 🙂
