Sharing My World 01-07-2019

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

Would (or do) you stop to help (presumably) stranded folks by the side of the road?
I’d slow down, have good laugh, say something rude then roar off heh heh 🙂

No, I wouldn’t do that. I wouldn’t even slow down. In every film I’ve ever seen the “broken down car” is an ambush.

Do you think the world is less mannerly today than in past times OR are we just more touchy and manners are as they’ve always been?
See previous answer!

What happens if you’re scared half to death, TWICE?
As mathematical genius Mr Squirrel has pointed out, If you keep halving something you never actually reach zero, so I’d be just fine!

If ALL the world’s a stage, where does the audience sit?
The audience is in your head and it never lets up jeering. Never, dammit!

Gratitude-y type question here
I just finished my two week annual leave and I got loads done! Two new tyres for the car (£310, dammit), new washer dryer (£400, dammit), mended the back fence, painted the front garden wall…

… baked a cake…

… made a stir fry…

… had a BBQ with home made burgers with my parents…

… and much much more 🙂

Due to Hollywood’s portrayal of stranded people on the side of the road as conmen and conwomen, those we get stranded in real life don’t get help from fellow drivers. 😔
Did the cake taste as good as it looks?

Those panic-mongering films have a lot to answer for.
      And, yes 🙂

I’m going to have to print this out, as I’m pretty sure it’s the first time I have ever been referred to as a mathematical genius. Or any kind of genius, for that matter.

You get more done in two weeks than I get done in a whole year! A motivational genius, I am not…

Stick it in a nice frame.
I did get a lot done! I played 60 hours of Fry Cry 4 as well…

Proper manners appear to be a thing of the past. That said, I would probably be afraid to stop. But I would notify the police.
However, I will be stopping by your place for dinner. That cake and all the food look amazing! 🙂

Thanks for Sharing Your World! I was watching some forgettable film (no, I take that back, I DO remember it. That’s really REALLY sad)…called something like “Finding the Jackalope”. It was about a middle aged fellow (who was an actual writer and who didn’t appreciate that fact as much as he should have. I’d be celebrating every day). Through a series of dim-witted mistakes, this guy ended up trying to hitchhike from New York City to somewhere in Ohio for his college reunion. His motivation was to reconnect with the girl he was with in college. The jackalope (a mythical creature) was cast as the ‘voice in our loser hero’s head). As he’s traipsing down a freeway (and where were the cops? NOBODY is allowed to hitchhike on the actual freeway. Well not here anyway), he’s hit in the head with a full beer can by some college boys who jeer at the poor man and call him, among other names, loser.. Your words about stopping to help somebody reminded me.

I’d’ve been throwing the can heh heh 🙂
Equating “freeway” with “motorway”, there’s no pedestrians allowed in this country either. Or bicycles or tractors.

Looks like you had a grand time! Enjoy going back to work? Send me a great stir-fry recipe from on-line if you have one- or your favorite. I have NEVER stir-fried.

I just bought pork strips, I had a few veggies left over and some egg noodles. I chopped up some peppers and bunged everything in some oil. Then I added loads of balsamic vinegar (I ran out of stir fry sauce) and fried it all together for about 4 minutes.

    Mmm that cake looks good.

My husband always stops for people, and while I admire him trying to be helpful, it does make me nervous. I tell him to just call highway patrol to report a stranded motorist, but he usually just stops.
