FF – Worth Another Look

Here is my sort-of story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. The photo was contributed by Jean L Hays – way back in 2013!

Yes, it’s summer rerun time. This photo’s from December, as I found out as I started my search in January 2013…

“Hey, dude. We get a freebie this week.”

“What’s that then?”

“It’s summer rerun time. We can use our story from seven years ago.”

“Isn’t that, like, cheating?”

“Of course not! The very idea.”

“But that story was from ages ago. From ‘The Before Time’.”

“The what?”

“’Before.’ Before we wrote the good stuff.”

“The good stuff? High quality weed?”

“No. You know. Our trademark blend of humour, sensitivity and horrific dismemberments.”

“Oh, yeah. Let’s have a read, then. Hey! This could work! It’s mildly horrific.”

“It is! Let’s go for it.”

The moment I wrote that I knew I had to make a weed reference or ES would be after me!

A twofer this week. Well done. If I could have understood the one I did seven years ago, I might have done the same myself. 🙂

I think some of that good stuff might help ease the pain of that severed arm…. although I’d think after 7 years now, he’d quit whining about it.

It’s like he just can’t let it go (with his other arm).

I’m still not ‘old’ enough to have the luxury of reruns! I do have both arms though.

Indeed. I’m on vacation myself, and running out of prefabricated drawings. Some recycling might be necessary soon. Or not, we’ll see.

Sensitivity and horrific dismemberments made Jaws a huge hit. I liked the old story and the dude in this one.

But thank you for allowing me to correct my mistake, I thought it happened 5 years ago (now corrected).

I just finished reading “39 Years of Short-Term Memory” by Tom Davis about his years of partnering with Al Franken, stand-up and writing for SNL. Rat-infested apartments, borrowing rent money from their parents, but they always managed to have their pockets full of weed, coke and primo LSD. These guys sorta reminded me of them! 😀 Good job with characterization.
