FF – Nuthead and Numbnuts Have a Picnic

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo was contributed by Roger Bultot.

“Here we are, Nuthead! A nice picnic.”

“Yes, Numbnuts, lovely. Is this where we meant to go? Never mind. Spread out the food!”

“Food?”

“Dang!”

“I remembered the baby chair.”

“Good-oh. But that makes me think we’ve forgotten something.”

“The food?”

“Something else.”

“The baby! We forgot the baby!”

“Omygodomygodomygod…”

“Wait a sec. We don’t have a baby.”

“Oh, that’s a relief. I thought for a minute we’d left him slash her at the supermarket slash petrol station slash home.”

“Phew! Though we do have a baby chair.”

“But why?”

“I forget. Let’s go home.”

“Yes, let’s. Where’s that again?”

I’m surprised these two actually found the door/window to go outside! 😀

How long will they remember each other?

Long enough to get into more mischief I bet.

    Dangerous indeed.
What if the baby is really there and they have forgotten her/him somewhere…
Oh God, please restore their memory!

Don’t fret, there is no baby 🙂 There was going to be originally but I wanted a comedy and there’s nothing funny about that.

The question is how sure can they be that they haven’t actually forgotten they forgot about the forgotten baby.

Great title, and they lived up to it admirably.

I was thinking about “Almost” have a picnic but I didn’t want it to get too long.

Quite a pair: they should take their show the road. They could be millionaires 🙂

On the contrary, I think there’s plenty of food in that bag on the ground.

If their parents hadn’t named them Nuthead and Numbnuts, they might not have grown up to be idiots…

You had me at “Nuthead and Numbnuts.” If I ever have twins… No, probably not.

How would they know if they’ve forgotten/remembered/forgotten anything. It’s a bit like, “He looking round the corner to see if I was to see if he was looking to see if I was looking to see if he was looking..”

These people must have a keeper who I hope finds them sooner or later. Someone needs to keep their names and addresses pinned to the front of them. 🙂 — Suzanne

Yes, they definitely need some sort of reminder system in place 🙂

Very amusing tale. They are two peas in a pod, but might prove dangerous to one or the other. =)
