FF – First Date Mishap

Here is my story for Friday Fictioneers, hosted by Rochelle. This week’s photo appears to be a beautiful painting by Rochelle herself 🙂

“Goodness, a home-cooked meal!”

“I like to make an impression on a first date!”

“I’ll just add a bit of salt, pepper, some ketchup…”

What are you doing.

“Huh?”

You haven’t even tasted it yet.

“I, um…”

“Let me take a quick photo of you (snap) I just need to send a text, one sec…”

“… there we go. So, where were we? You were telling me about your job? It sounds fascinating!”

“Um.”

“Eat up!”

“Um.”

If only had known about this service sooner! 😀 I once cooked dinner for a guy and he asked for salt and pepper before even tasting it.

Snicker. That’s one way to deal with unimpressive dates.

Good job he didn’t go for brown sauce. That would have a been a fate worse than death.

Gee. Someone’s judgmental! They didn’t even discuss dessert…

I like how you saw her as the transgressor – I deliberately didn’t identify who was who to see what people thought!
      Yep. it’s game over.

Not once he/she’d ketchupped it. Sadly, his/her last meal.

    Dear Ali,

Nothing is more irritating than someone adding to a dish I’ve made before tasting it. I’d say first date = last date in this case. 😉

Well, my word. That’s a pretty gruesome kinid of test at which to fail! I wonder, would he still have been offended if she had tasted first and THEN asked for condiments?

Ha, that sounds even worse! I never reach for condiments for a home-cooked meal unless the other person does first 🙂

If she didn’t want him to add condiments, she should have left them off the table! Unless it was a deliberate test, of course…

Yes, it’s pretty bad when a person adds condiments to a meal without first tasting it. Poor woman. She went to all that trouble. Her good meal was wasted on him.
