Sharing My World 08-05-2023
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Do you feel comfortable walking in your neighbourhood at night?
Yes, it’s a tiny little village and according to crime stats we get a couple of “anti social behaviour” arrests per month, plus occasionally someone sets a bin on fire. So not exactly a hub of gang activity or anything.
When you shop for day to day things, do you pay by cash or card?
I pay by card except at the monthly village market, where it’s pretty much cash-only, though one or two vendors sometimes have a portable card machine. Fortunately there’s a Post Office in the village where I can get cash out.
When was the last time you dressed up for a special occasion?
Last October, for my Dad’s funeral.
Have you ever lied about your age?
No, not that I recall.
No trouble in this town! Just a few bin fires…… which may or may not contain the charred remains of some unlucky fool who decided to go out for a walk at night.

And here was me thinking that the bin fire which always accompanies someone “suddenly leaving the village” was some sort of ritual “farewell” celebration…

We know how to “take care of things” in small villages. We wouldn’t qualify for “Britain’s Prettiest Village” if we left bodies lying around willy-nilly ๐ฎ

Thanks for sharing your world again. The park here is not a pleasant place to be at night and there is no way I would venture off the estate at night my own, even with the dog.

That’s a shame, but not unusual especially in cities ๐ฆ
