Sharing My World 01-04-2024
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Will you be playing tricks on someone seeing as it’s also April Fool’s Day?
I didn’t, no. I’m not a fan of practical jokes. And if they’re not done “properly” they can end up being cruel or embarrassing. It’s a real art.
Were you ever a victim of an April Fool’s prank?
Not that I recall, though there were probably “low grade” April Fool’s jokes played on me during my school days.
Will it be a normal working day for you?
April 1st was Easter Monday so it was a Bank Holiday.
If you have children, are they of school age on Easter break, or toddlers?
I don’t have any children.

No bank holidays at the hospital (where I work). But I only work part time so I really can’t complain. :)

Hospitals definitely don’t close for public holidays.

If you had children, no doubt you’d have had plenty of “high grade” pranks played on you…

I also think practical jokes are often cruel. Those who like playing them get Schadenfreude!
The French tradition of sticking a paper fish on someone’s back (poisson d’avril) is harmless enough, but l can’t imagine anyone past the age of ten finding it fun (or funny).

That’s not even as bad as a “kick me” sign but no, only really amusing for children, a bit of fun for them.
