How organised are you in either your working or private life?
I’m quite organised at work, quite disorganised at home. Every so often I tidy up at home, promising that I’ll never have such a huge pile of stuff building up again, but that never works.
Do you remember family birthdays or anniversaries and send cards?
Yes. There’s not that many to remember so I remember my best friends’ birthdays as well. On top of that my phone pops up a reminder 7 days beforehand. It’s practically impossible to forget stuff these days,
If you see something in a shop that is an extravagance but you can afford it, do you buy it?
I assume this is something that I actually want? Maybe – though I rarely visit shops these days. Online is more dangerous for me. I tend to never impulse buy so I’d likely leave the shop. But online – obviously I can easily go back to that after I’ve “ummed” and “ahhed” about it for a while…
Are you looking forward to the New Year?
Not any more than any other days/weeks/months. Changing the digit doesn’t really change anything.

As a kid, did you have roller skates, a go-kart or a push bike?
I had a bike. It was like a right of passage in those days. We used to cycle everywhere, even across town to visit friends. There’s so much traffic on that route these days, even walking it you have to be a bit careful!
Also, did you belong to a gang or just hang out with your friends?
Well, we called it a gang. And there was even a rival gang too! But we just tried to outsmart each other over in the woods and fields by the river. We weren’t displaying gang colours or popping caps in each others’ asses or anything.
What is the best present, birthday or otherwise, you can remember as a child?
My Dad made my brother and I a wooden fort when we were kids. That was awesome! I don’t know how long it took him to cut out all the battlements and everything.
If a friend stayed over, did you have a midnight feast or did you go to bed and sleep?
I don’t remember any friends ever staying overnight. I had friends over all the time, just not for the night. I wasn’t Billy No-mates or anything 😮

Do you have a favourite outfit you like to wear?
I almost always wear jeans, t-shirt and jumper and trainers. So that, I guess.
What is the worst thing you were forced to wear as a child (school uniforms aside) ?
We didn’t have a school uniform in primary school, but I recall having to wear shorts and those old-style sandals. That was pretty bad.
Do you have a sweet tooth, and if so, are you a chewer, cruncher, or sucker?
I’m a sucker for hard sweets and a chewer for soft toffee.
Do you think you could eat your weight in chocolate?
This is awkward. I thought of a great answer but Evil Squirrel thought of the same one and got there first. His team of sciurine lawyers (or “attorneys” I guess as they’re based in the USA) have therefore placed some conditions on me.
So, the answer – no, since the more chocolate I eat the more I weigh so I can never reach my weight in chocolate.
Now for the legal bit as per the legal team at the Nest – that is, in full, Evil Squirrel’s Nest Inc LLC®.
That’s the 3 links and the Nest’s full “legal” name. As for the massive Cafepress purchase and free advertising for Mitzi, bring it on Nest legal team… 🙂

Do you have any family traditions?
Nope. Not a lot more to say!
With December on its way, have you ever been carol singing?
No. I’ve never even seen carol singers outside of films and TV, or organised events. I’m not sure door-to-door carol singing is really a thing in real life?
Do you decorate your home for the Christmas holidays?
Just a few little bits and bobs. I have a string of coloured lights that will flash or whatever you want them to do. I don’t have room for a tree or anything like that.
Do you enjoy the Christmas rush for preparations and shopping?
Absolutely in no way whatsoever do I enjoy the Christmas rush, Christmas preparations or Christmas shopping 😮 It was exciting as a child but not when you actually have to do it rather than just watching it magically happen around you.
Bah humbug.

As a child, did you prefer to watch TV, play games outside on a nice day, or read?
I enjoyed doing all three. On a nice day we were always outside playing.
What would you rather do now, read a book, watch a movie at home, dine out with friends, or go down the pub?
Either of the first two for preference.
Are you fashion conscious?
Not really. I just wear comfortable stuff. I never know what’s currently “in” or “out”, and I don’t much care 🙂
Do you wear slippers, clogs or go barefoot indoors?
I wear slippers inside.

Does the weather affect your mood?
Yes, I’m often a lot happier when it’s warm and sunny. I also quite like dark winter evenings in the winter, but only when there’s no energy crisis and I can afford to use the heating 😮
If a stranger smiles at you or says ‘good morning’ when they pass you in the street, do you return it?
Yes, it’s quite common here in the village.
If you had a choice of just one of these things to eat, what would it be and why? Chocolate, a sweet pastry, a plate of chips/fries (this is not a forever choice, just one instance).
I have to choose? I quite like the sound of chips right now, maybe with some spicy hot sauce dribbled on them. I had fish and chips just last Thursday, actually.
If you could go back to when you were a specific age, what would that be? Why?
Hmm. Probably about 30 – not too old, not too young. But only if i could continue where I am now, I don’t want to go back and do everything again.

Do you consider friends an extension of your family?
Sort of, but different. It’s not easy to explain, so I won’t try.
Would you confide in a friend more than you would a family member?
It depends what the subject was. In general I probably would, I wouldn’t want my family to start worrying.
How long have you known your best friend?
All my life – our fathers knew each other when we were babies.
Do you believe distance has a negative effect on friendships?
For sure. Before you know it, it’s just an exchange of Christmas cards.

If you were a ghost, who would you haunt, and why?
I’d track down all the murderous assholes and make them live their victims’ final moments. I’d be like Ghost Rider but without the cool flaming motorbike.
If broomsticks were legitimate modes of transport, would you like one?
For sure. I’d have to customise it a bit though. Heated seat, a decent steering mechanism, some sort of cover to keep out the elements – oh, that’s a flying car, isn’t it.
Would you cook in a cauldron?
Of course not! I wouldn’t want to ruin my spells with left-over food, they’re very sensitive.
Have you ever had your fortune told?
No. I’ve never “crossed anyone’s palm with silver.”
On Hold
Sadly my Dad passed away on Monday so please excuse me if I miss/don’t respond to comments or post anything for a little while.

Favourite horror or Halloween-themed song? Or a song you rarely hear except around a holiday.
The only Halloween-themed song I can think of is “Monster Mash”. That’s quite enjoyable. A song I rarely hear except around a holiday is “Stop the Cavalry” by Jona Lewie. It’s only ever played at Christmas as it contains the line “wish I was at home for Christmas”, though it’s actually a song about the horrors of war…
Do you ever see figures in your peripheral vision?
Yes. Once I saw 3.1415927 – pi to 7 decimal places. That’s quite a figure!
Which urban legend scares you the most? (most countries have such stories – share yours if you would like to)
I can hardly think of any urban legends from my neck of the woods. There’s the “Beast of Bodmin Moor” I suppose, but that doesn’t scare me 😮
You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?
I would utilise my well-honed ninja assassin special forces training by running into the bathroom, locking the door and screaming out the window.
