Chained
This is a follow-up poem to yesterday’s Haiku. Sorry about the picture re-use – I only took the one photo!
Children of the skies
Ambassadors of freedom
Homes replaced by metal
A legacy of greed
Uneasy pets now
A spectacle for eager eyes
Chained to the earth
No more to fly free
Break your chains, little bird
Break your chains and fly!
Wow, lovely poem 🙂

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I have a hard time with poems which don’t rhyme so I wasn’t sure if it was any good.

I have been rooting around your blog and found your poem about the tethered eagle and just had to say how touching and beautifully written it is. I have always hated the way birds are caged or on display like some trophy and your words say it all.

Thank you.
I also hate seeing animals caged, especially large cats and birds. They need space to roam free.
