Sunrise at Work
I took a couple of photos of yesterday’s sunrise! I only had my phone camera because I was arriving at work and it’s made the sun look like a huge explosion away in the distance :-). I should probably post-process it but I don’t have Photoshop. And I can’t be bothered.
Pretty!
I do all my photo mess on my phone with apps, so you may still be able to have some fun with it 🙂

I’m glad you liked them! I do have Paint Shop Pro 8 (from back when it was Jasc rather than Corel) which is actually quite good though fairly basic. There’s still the “can’t be bothered” hurdle to surmount, however 🙂

Hi, Draliman your pictures inspired me to write a story. I have added a link to this post in the story, I hope that’s fine with you. I haven’t used them on the post though, but if it’s ok with you would love to do so linking it back to you certainly.

The little one in the top photo is part of the electricity substation. On the right in the bottom photo is, I think, floodlights (for security I suppose). I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen them on, though. On the left is a windmill for generating electricity (owned by the developer of the land).
I’m glad you liked the photos 🙂

I like the photo, Ali. That was a really cloudy day. 🙂

This is England and there’s a hint of blue sky, that’s the surprising part!

Pretty darn good for a phone camera 🙂

I just got a new phone (Galaxy S6) which has a better camera than the S3, which was already pretty good! I then resized them down to about 40% for the upload. I’m glad you liked them 🙂

Do you have many “windmill” farms in your area. Here… they are just beginning to be discussed. The “huggers” cannot figure out if the savings of the “world” offsets the killing of the birds? (Apparently birds are not smart enough to fly around them?)

There are quite a few, yes. This is just a single one owned by an individual but there are plenty of wind farms around – one large wind farm and two solar farms just in the 20 miles I drive to work.
I hadn’t heard of any problems with birds, to be honest, and I’m sure if there were a big problem there would be plenty of people campaigning. Our main thing is “spoiling the look of the countryside” – we don’t have such large open away-from-everywhere spaces as the US.

We keep accumulating “bird deaths”. Perhaps British birds are better fliers?

I just did some research – opinion is divided! It’s all in the siting and planning apparently. Everyone cites major issues in Spain and California as having killed thousands of birds.

So… it’s not just the States?

Apparently not.
