Sharing My World 15-04-2024
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Regardless of whether you had them or not, can you remember three popular toys from when you were a child?
There was an electronic “Mini-Munchman” game, which was a little handheld Pacman knock-off, which I had and was very good at. Then of course the Rubik’s Cube, which I had but couldn’t even do two sides let alone finish it. For number three, the “Simon Says” electronic game, the one which lit up colours with sounds and you had to repeat them. While looking that one up, I noticed they still sell them!
Did you ever want something specific as a child, but never had it?
Not that I recall. I probably did at times, but nothing I can remember now.
Do you still have any toys or games from your childhood?
No, I don’t think so. There might still be something knocking around in Mum’s loft!
I think I’ve asked this before, but what was your favourite toy as a child?
Either my bike or a wooden fort my Dad made for us.

Your dad made you a wooden fort? Cool!

Yes, it had battlements and a drawbridge that went up and down and everything 🙂

I fondly remember how proud I was when I solved my Rubik’s Cube by peeling all of the stickers off and putting the colors all back on the correct sides…

I remember more than one “I’ve solved it” claimant at school whose Rubik’s cube had suspiciously skew stickers…

Lovely post. I couldn’t do the Rubik cube at all but my nephew was a genius at it!
A fort! How wonderful. I remember my Dad telling me about his Christmas as a child and wanting toy soldiers. I still get a bit weepy thinking about it as I wrote about it.
Thanks for joining in again this week.

I still have all my dolls and stuffed animals in a cupboard. Although some of the stuffed animals I bought well into adulthood. 😀

Pacman?? Oh, I’m old! I remember building things with Tinkertoys. They were invented around 1914, but I’m not quite that old. 😉

That Rubik cube looked easy, but when Granny tried to do it…only once…she had to admit that it wasn’t. Ever since it was already hard to look at it..MOL😹Do you still have the wooden fort, Draliman? It’s such a great memorie😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞

It’s possible the fort is in my Mum’s loft somewhere but I don’t really know, sadly.
