Sharing My World 2016 Week 41 and dralibread!
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Nope. I don’t see how that can really exist. Doesn’t that mean you’re falling in love with the way someone looks, pretty much? That’s lust at first sight.
Your first car?
It was a 1985 Ford Fiesta, in a very light blue, almost grey colour. It served me well(ish) for six or seven years, at which point it went into the crusher π
Who taught you to ride a bike? How did it go?
My dad, I guess. I don’t know how it went the first time, but I had stabilisers so I wouldn’t have fallen off. I can’t remember much in detail from so long ago!
Ugly and rich or beautiful and poor?
Somewhere in the middle. That way I can slip around without drawing undue attention. Okay, rich. No, wait, beautiful. Rich. I can’t decide.
What was the first dish you could cook?
I suppose it was a fry up, at least that’s the first thing I can remember. I had to learn how to do it for my “Home Help” badge in the Cub Scouts. Does throwing stuff in a frying pan and waiting until it’s done really count as cooking?
On a “cooking” note I baked my first bread last week. The cheese and herbs on the top got a little “browned”, but otherwise, it had a nice crust and was very soft on the inside. Tasty dralibread π

It looks like the bread turned out lovely! Was it tasty? I wouldn’t be able to decide between, beautiful and poor or ugly and rich. That’s a hard decision. I suppose with “rich” you could afford to have a face lift. LOL!

Ha, yes, with enough money you can alter things to suit yourself.

It was old, “clangy”, only had 4 forward gears and you had to really work the choke quite carefully on a cold day but it was a good car!

Sometimes, if you’re putting stuff on top on some kind of baking, you bake it nearly all the way, then drop the topping on late in the cycle. It’s a bit tricky, but it works. You have to do it fast without too much banging around so the bread doesn’t collapse.

That’s what I’m thinking next time! But timing is everything…

I had a Orange Fiesta about that time! Enjoyed the little car. We call the ‘stabilizers’ on bikes ‘training wheels’.

“Training wheels” – I like that! All the cool people have owned a Fiesta (I still do!).

I don’t believe in love at first sight either. I think I’m plain (and plain is cousin of ugly) so I’d rather want to be ugly and rich than beautiful and poor.

Yeah, if you’re rich nobody cares plus you can buy loads of cool stuff.

I love the empathy you displayed for your beloved first car when it met its ultimate destiny. The machines….. they do not forget! π

Yeah, I was almost as broken up about it as the car π
It’s probably been melted down and turned into a Terminator, and it has only one target…

Now, I would like homemade bread. Looks delicious. And I think pan-frying counts as cooking, especially if there’s more in the pan than a grilled cheese sandwich, which I think was my brother’s first cooking dish.

Good-oh! I’m often confused as to what counts as actual “cooking” and what is simply “chucking stuff in a pan/oven”.

Well done and I agree it’s lust at first sight.
