Sharing My World Week 32
Here is my post for Cee’s Share Your World.
If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I’ve worn glasses since I was in primary school. I had a brief flirtation with contact lenses in my mid-twenties. Due to my astigmatism I had to have the hard ones (the soft ones couldn’t handle it back in those days). They were all very well but a lot of hassle to clean, a bit uncomfortable and if I looked the wrong way and blinked they’d fly out 😦
I also had a habit of falling asleep in lectures. And trust me, you do not want to fall asleep with contacts in.
Are you more of a dog person or a cat person?
A cat person. As far as dogs go, they’d have to be stuffed ones.
Stuffed cuddly toys, I mean. I don’t go out and kill dogs and stuff them. That would be gross and wrong.

The Lads.
If you were to buy a new house/apartment what are the top three items on your wish list?
A decent-sized enclosed back garden, maybe with a little stream gurgling through it. A couple of extra rooms. And a lovely view – a lake and some forest with a mountain here and there in the distance would be ideal 🙂
What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
Nuffin 😦 I just ground my way through the week. But if you want something inspirational, here are Grumpy Cat’s words of wisdom for this month. Words to live by.

Of all the things to comment on, I’m going with that bizarre calendar. And not because of Grumpy Cat…. but because of how strange that looks to us ‘Murricans. Seeing a red-numbered day in the month of August looks really strange since it’s been a long running joke that August is the only month of the American calendar without any kind of holiday… federal, religious or even just celebratory…

We have summer bank holiday (the last Monday in August). That’s it until Christmas Day, though 😦
I had to pop upstairs to the calendar to see why tomorrow is red. Apparently it’s a bank holiday in Scotland.

My calendar says it’s a Civic Holiday in Canada. Other than that and “Friendship Day” (Which happens to be today, whatever that is), the rest of this month on my calendar is blank…

I wore contacts for years and like you, I had to wear the hard ones for the same reason. I know what you mean about them popping out of your eye, but mine didn’t pop out of my eye, they would get lost in the back of my eye. It wasn’t easy to get them back on straight again. Great answers!

I remember that well. Poking my eyelid to try to get it back round the front. And don’t even get me started on getting grit or an eyelash trapped underneath… 🙂

Yay, a fellow cat person! 🐱
I’m glad you don’t do the taxidermy thing with dogs. 😉 Nice stuffed dogs you have!
I wore contact lenses for years (I’ve since had my eyes lasered), and don’t miss them one bit.

Yeek, I don’t like the idea of getting lasered 😦 I’ll stick with the glasses!

We are definitely the glasses crew here on WP. I never had trouble putting them in or getting them out, but wearing them was like having a big mosquito bite in the middle of each eyeball. “Don’t rub your eyes” they said. Right. Sure. Okay.

Glasses also afford decent protection from wind and wind-borne grit. I can’t remember the last time I got “something in my eye”, but it happened all the time while I was wearing contacts.

Glasses for me as well! The Lads are really cute! Never argue with the advice from Grumpy Cat 🙂

Grumpy Cat must be very popular. He’s funny as can be. After all the complaints made about contacts I’ve heard, I’ve never tried them. My daughter noticed things looked bleary one day and discovered she was wearing both her contacts and glasses. Good answers, Ali. 😀 — Suzanne

Whew, glad you clarified on stuffed dogs 😉 I’d prefer neither, for the record.

I didn’t want there to be any misunderstandings 🙂
Cats are fun and lovely but can make quite a mess, but you have kids for all that 🙂

I used to be a dog person before I married. But I took care of two cats thanks to my daughter who left her cats at my house when she couldn’t keep them in her apartment. I learned cats are lovable too.

Granny says the answer of the glasses and contactlenses sound very familiar…she knows also the effect of sleeping with the hard ones…MOL 😀 I knew you were a cat purrson, Draliman, don’t asked me why, but I just knew and I think you’re very kind to animals…at least you don’t stuff them…MOL 😀 Grumpy is very wise and super cute 🙂 Double Pawkiss for the weekend 🙂 ❤
