Sharing My World 25-10-2021
Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.
Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building?
Dreeplang G’Kar, lesser demon of the Circles of Hell (Junior Grade). He’s okay usually, but stick him in an abandoned building and he goes all hard core, all “eat your soul” this and “destroy the world” that. There’s just no talking to him.
Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?
Yeah. I bet that’s what deja vu is. A glimpse across realms dum dum DUM…
Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?
Yes, I don’t see any reason not to. Even Dreeplang G’Kar is pretty chill in graveyards.
What is the most frightening book you’ve ever read?
“Wuthering Heights”. That was frighteningly boring. I thought it would be all heaving bosoms and whatnot. You’re better off watching the film adaptation for stuff like this. Shame, because the song spinoff by Kate Bush was awesome.
If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), which would you pick out of the five choices?
I’d have a black cat. Black cats aren’t spooky, black cats are cool.

Boring? No kidding. I think you should give it another chance.

I loved Wuthering Heights. Although to be honest, my teacher at the time went though it with us chapter by chapter so that we really understood. I don’t know that I would have had she not.

Pretty much the only “classic” literature I ever read was in English class.

Thank you Alistair for Sharing Your Spooky World. I’d never heard of that *er* demon creature thingie, but it sounds fairly benign for such creatures. If you tried to talk to ‘him’, you’re far braver than I’d ever be! 😉 I will give a very gentle FIE! to your Wuthering Heights remark, although you get strong points for reading it (did you finish it too?) It helped to be female to read that particular one I think. Apologies to men who have different lifestyles (and no profiling intended), but that book has Heathcliff, who, in most girls’ imaginations (well at least mine), was a cross between a much buffer Johnny Depp (with all the appeal) and Idris Elba. Yummm. 😛 Heathcliff was the blueprint for every bad boy who appealed to girls anywhere. I never saw the film, being a snooty ‘purist’ for my classic literature, but don’t blame anyone who did/does. That writing style is tough to endure admittedly. 😉 Have a great week!

Although I must disagree with the Wuthering Heights review, I completely agree with your assessment of Dreeplang G’Kar. His brother Kreeplang is even worse. Wait, what, this all seems like it happened before…………………..

Black cats ARE cool, Ali, and you did a good job redeeming yourself after offending the literary gods by maligning one of the Bronte sisters (can’t remember which one!) by giving all thumbs up to Kate Bush’s homage to it. It grew on me after my daughter played it for the 1,999,999,999,999th time. ;>)

Yes, practically everyone disagreed about Wuthering Heights 🙂
It was written by “Ellis Bell” aka Emily Bronte.

I’m with you on Wuthering Heights. Also, considering what an asshat Heathcliff was, why didn’t someone bonk him over the head with a frying pan and dump the body in the bog? No one would have missed him. Certain I wouldn’t have missed him!
Yes, black cats are VERY cool. I’ve had two over the years that had no other colors.

That would have made for a more fun book!

Speaking of frighteningly boring, I can promise you I’ll never feature Kate Bush in a Monday Muzak feature. I need to find out what kind of music Dreeplang G’Kar likes, though…

He says “thrash metal” but I’m sure I’ve seen him sneaking into the local C&W bar…

Deja vu is what makes you believe in existence of multiple dimension. Maybe. How about intuition?
