Sharing My World 20-06-2022

Here is my post for Melanie’s Share Your World.

What are three scents you like?
Pine forest, down at the beach with the sea and the seaweed, and cooking bacon. Mmm, bacon.

What is something true (factual) that most other people don’t believe?
If something’s been proven to be a fact, I would imagine that “most” people believe it. It’s usually a case that most people don’t know something but would believe it once they do.

Would you rather have a massage or get a facial?
Neither, really. I’m not even sure what a “facial” involves.

Have you ever thrown someone a really extravagant party?
Nope. I’m not a party-throwing sort of person. Or a “going to parties” sort of person either.

TBH, don’t know what a facial involves either, but yet I chose one. Maybe I should research it on the off chance I get offered one.

I think knuckle dusters may be involved in facials!

That was my first thought but steered clear. Of course, someone had to go and mention it…

Thanks Alistair for Sharing Your World. For your edification in case you get that ‘other’ facial that ES is referring to, a facial in women’s speak is where you go to the salon (where they might also offer a massage, do your hair, or give you a manicure or pedicure (or all of the above). You sit in a little booth or room, usually with Enya playing in the background or other new agey type music, smelling aromatherapy candles in soothing scents. You pay someone to slather stuff on your face (this is where the two facials collide, but ES’s type isn’t usually slathered but squirted. And there are all kinds and I don’t judge!) The regular stuff in the salon smells of lemon or mint or other pleasing scents. This stuff might be a bit grainy to make sure the pores on your face are cleaned out or scrubbed (and some are quite harsh, so it pays to know what’s being spread). The cosmetician puts a warm, wet towel over all this mess (you might have cucumbers on your eyes too, as they apparently tighten the skin) and you relax, listen to soothing music and breath in the air (and some of us fall asleep) and your face comes out all cleansed and fresh. It’s very invigorating, but not exactly ‘manly’. Good lord. The whole comment is dedicated to the facial question. All your answers were great, and introverts RULE. Have a great week!

You would think that would be true but here in the states, it has been anything BUT true. Quite the opposite has proved true.

I’m not a fan of eating bacon, I don’t like it, but I love the smell of it cooking…go figure! 🙂

I’ve known vegetarians who love the smell of cooking bacon, though they’d never eat it 🙂
