Sharing My World 05-06-2023
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Do you like to sunbathe on the beach or by a pool?
No. ‘Nuff said.
Have you ever used a fake tan or a sun bed?
No. ‘Nuff said.
Have you joined or wanted to join a gym?
God no. Definitely ’nuff said on that one too.
Good health permitting, would you prefer to go hiking or take a walk in the woods?
I’m not sure what the difference is. Maybe a “hike” is more or a big deal, like with “proper” hiking shoes/boots and one of those walking sticks. Plus a backpack of course.
If “good health permitted”, I’d quite like to go on a good long hike. For now, I’ll stick to walks around the local roads. Here’s a curious horse spotted on a recent such walk.

Walking around the neighborhood seems much better to me than in the woods. And look, you even found a horse. You won’t find a horse in the woods.

There are some woods in the neighbourhood, but they’re private 😦

Thanks for joining in. I’ve always associated a hike with all the gear, proper shoes, and walking miles. Our walks through the woods with Maggie were always enjoyable, No horses though, but a bull got loose which I wrote about. When we lived in Poole, we often went to the New Forest, renown for its ponies. Barney rounded one up for us then sat down as if to say ‘What do I do with it now?’
Lovely picture. Reminds me of my childhood and the horses that used to be in the fields behind our estate. We used to take them apples.

A shorter walk with less gear is more my style 🙂 Thankfully I’ve never been menaced by a bull 😮

It was such a waste, and in our opinion, unnecessary if they’d had some common sense.

Aw, man. I tried so hard to prevent it, but eventually all blogs go that way…

No sunbathing or fake tans for me either; I sit under an umbrella. I’m there for the ocean.
Great photo! The horse is wondering why you don’t have a walking stick or a backpack.

And also why I’m waving a camera phone in front of its face 🙂

See, me too. I think “a hike” means a hefty backpack and solid shoes with a serious tread whereas a walk in the woods requires a boatload of bug repellant.

I like the idea of carrying everything with me, stopping for the night somewhere out in nature and so on, but I don’t think I would be able to handle the actual reality.

I used a tan spray in a bottle years ago, and it turned me orange. 😧
