Sharing Your World 18-12-2023
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
What is your favourite song or artist beginning with the letter D?
What? “D”? Now my mind’s gone blank. I can’t think of a single song or artist starting with any letter at all. Duran Duran. Dido. I don’t know.
When was the last time you visited a church?
I’m guessing my Godson’s Christening. He’s nearly 10.
If you celebrate Christmas, when do you put your decorations up? If not, do you decorate your home for other traditional occasions?
I put them up yesterday. Well, I say “them”. There’s a little snowman and a string of lights. The first and last third of the string have only blue lights working. The central third has only orange and green. I think I have a set which works but I don’t know where I put it and I’m not sure I can be bothered to look.
Bah humbug.
Do you like a glass of wine with your main meal of the day?
No, I don’t drink.

My home isn’t decorated much more than that. I bought a new rug for the outside from door that says “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays”, something like that. Anyway that is out, mostly because it never came in.

Leave it there all year, then it’s all ready to go 🙂

Thanks for playing along. Ah yes, the lights, always a bummer when I was a kid. Work when put away, never do when brought out the following year. We haven’t put any deccies up yet as Hubby hasn’t felt well enough to go up in the roof to get them. The piano is crowded with cards though.

I hope he feels better for Christmas. It’s nice to get cards 🙂

Thank you. He seems a little better every day so that’s a blessing.

Nothing brings back warm memories of holidays past like strings of half burnt out lights…

And in the really old days the lights were all connected in serial, so one broken bulb and the whole lot wouldn’t work. Finding and replacing the broken bulb was quite the tradition…

Yep, I remember that well. I’ll bet it was a joy for people who were tasked with putting up elaborate holiday light displays…
