What is your favourite Christmas (or traditional) memory?
Gran always visited from Scotland, and we used to have lots of fun going around the place. We also used to go for a lovely walk on Christmas Eve, all together.
Do you think merchandise is sold too early for these celebrations?
Yep. The only reason there’s no Easter Eggs in the shops yet is because they’ve been full of Christmas stuff since October.
Do you decorate your house with ribbons, streamers, tinsel etc?
Not very much, a couple of strips of tinsel and some flashing coloured lights.
What is your least favourite Christmas song?
I was struggling to decide which one is the absolute worst, but Dawn reminded me that it’s “Last F*cking Christmas” by Wham.

Yep, your least favourite song is one of mine too. Yesterday I was really pi55ed off as I heard Wizard’s ‘Wish it could be Christmas Every Day’ for the first time this year, and thought I’d avoided it. Bummer. Should have known better than to go even close to the Christmas Market here but I wanted coffee!!!! The council later sent warnings to pack up by 1pm due to strong winds from storm Darragh so like last year, it was a non event. 2023 was over three days but we had torrential rains and everyone packed up on day two. Yesterday, there were only half a dozen stalls and hardly any punters when I went by.

The joys of living on the East coast with horrendous winds and wet weather! There are other markets to visit, and they are all more or less the same, one town has three markets every week, and this year their Christmas Market was on a Sunday, so they had 4 that week!

If you hate Wham’s original, then you’ll definitely hate all of the cover versions of “Last Christmas,” which was all Mecca played for a while (Hint: Taylor Swift’s sucks). And let’s not jump ahead… it’s the candy hearts and pink stuffed Mitzis that are patiently awaiting shelf space right now.

MOL over the last answer, Draliman. One thing Granny remembers that she and her sister took a walk on Christmasday, after they were so filled with all the goodies, that they had to make room for the next bite…MOL..Double Pawkisses for a happy week ahead🐾😽💞
