Sharing My World 13-01-2025
Here is my post for Share Your World, hosted by Di.
Of all the household chores (laundry, dusting, hoovering, washing up, cooking etc) which is your least favourite?
I never do any dusting, so that.
With food prices going up all the time, do you buy less, find substitutes, or don’t buy at all?
I just buy what I always bought and complain about it. I’m fortunate not to be on a budget.
Do you enjoy meals with left overs?
If I have leftovers I’ll make something with them. They can often make the best meals, chucking everything in together, adding some tinned tomatoes and cooking it all up together.
Do you prefer bagels, crusty bread, or toast?
I like crusty bread but thirty years ago a piece of crusty bread jammed into my gum and it got infected so that put me off a bit. I don’t really know exactly what a “bagel” is. They mention them a lot on American TV.

You’re not missing out on anything with bagels. I associate them with New York City, which is too high falootin for my Midwestern tastes…

It is generally in TV programmes set in New York that they seem to be always eating them…

I know. We decluttered our shelves for house sale pictures and there are still loads to shift about!

I also hate dusting but I force myself to do it and I complain about it. 😀

Maybe I should force myself to do it, I love a good complaining:-)

I agree with another comment. You’re not missing anything re: bagels. Quite the toughies, takes strong teeth to chew ’em.

Think I’ll give them a miss in that case.

We haven’t dust here since a month and believe it or not, it shows…MOL…We only buy what we need too, Draliman. But there’s a big difference between the packages, they’re smaller, have less content and cost more. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞

Yes, everything is getting smaller and costing more 😦

My favorite time to eat bagels is in the summer. I top them with Philadelphia Cream Cheese (the chive and onion kind) and then a fresh tomato and salt and pepper. THAT’s a breakfast!

we were always a bakery family. My grandfather would make three stops each morning in order to bring home several different breads for breakfast. And he’d get up at 5 a.m. to do it. But each morning we had potato rolls, dutch crunch rolls, and always fresh bagels. Nothing quite like the smell of fresh bagels. Nearby family would invariably “drop-in” for breakfast so they never lasted very long. Sadly, not one of those bakeries remains to-day.

That sounds wonderful! Sadly, I couldn’t tell you where any bakery might be anywhere near where I live.

Dust is subject to gravity, so if you vacuum the floor, you’ve got it covered! 😄
